In Memory Of

Arvelos Crazymule, age 69, of Lame Deer

March 24, 1946 – June 10, 2015

Jesus called Arvelos Whitewolf Crazymule of Lame Deer home, and freed her from her pain and suffering on June 10, 2015, at 69 years of age. She was born to Alice Beartusk Whitewolf and Joseph Whitewolf, Sr. on March 24, 1946.  Her adopted mother was Inez Wilson. Arvelos had 5 children: Malinda, Kenny, Leland (Sharon), Sidonia, and Nathan (Rachel), 27 grandchildren, and 54 great-grandchildren. Bill Two Moons was her companion for many years and she loved him very much.

Arvelos was preceded in death by her parents; four of her grandchildren: Marena, Beautiful, Rosita Lynn, and Kamie.

She is survived by all of her siblings: Priscilla Robinson, Joy Foote, Isadore (Farrell) Whitewolf, Joseph Whitewolf, Jr., Letha, Eloise, Haroldine, and Justine Whitewolf; her children; her grandchildren: Macklyn (Kinsey), Terence (Dairy), Angel (Robert), Terry (Ashley), Blayne, Brodie (Kodi), Khloe, Eldon, Fran, Arshanda, Kenneth III, Kingston, Chalec, Shannon (Herman), Bryan, Leland Jr, Trey, Arora, Leila, Frank (Daveta), Dean, Alyssa (Henry), Frank “Nikki”, Carl (Jada), Blake, Whitney (Ty), Mariah (Levi), Tristen, Angelina, and Shawnie; her aunts and uncles: Bertha Freeman, Theresa Woodenlegs, Rose Doyle, Rueben Beartusk, and John Woodenlegs; her cousins that were like her own siblings: Mercedes, Eva Lee, Linda, Diane, Priscilla, Christine, Nathel, Edith, Eugene, Melissa, and Edwin; and her adopted sisters: Theda Foote and Clara Harris.

Arvelos was a sister, mother, grandmother, cousin, niece, and friend. She was a very strong, loving, caring person. She always thought of her children and grandchildren first before anything and also took care of her companion, and she loved them all very much.

She worked for the Elderly Program as a cook for several years. Arvelos also worked for the Ha’Jiske Day Care Center and most recently for the Lame Deer School Day Care Center. She loved working with children, and it brought her so much joy. She was close to her co-workers Tanya, Glenmore, June Spang, Addie Runsabove, and Pamela Woodenlegs One of her favorite things to do was to play Bingo, but gave it up when she couldn’t be around the smoke. She loved to dance at her young age with her best friend and sister Linda Freeman. Arvelos also liked to sing 49 songs with her sisters. Joy was the lead singer.

Arvelos is a descendant of Hump Back Woman, Survivor of the Sand Creek Massacre, Jessie Blackbear Bixby, Mary Bixby Eastman, Lucy Eastman Beartusk, Two Bulls, Black Horse, Redwoman, Rowlands, Yellownose, Tangled Yellow Hair, Bearcomesout, Starvingbear, Harris, Strangeowl, Killsontop, Littlebird, Oldbear, Greeny, Flores, LaFranier, Littlewhirlwind, Whitedirt, Pine, Red Cherries, Big Foot, Barton, Blackbear, Fox, Curly, Firecrow, Whitewolf, and Hollowbreast. If we didn’t mention our other relatives, please accept our apologies.

The family wants to thank the following: St. Vincent Hospital, Advanced Care for making her last days comfortable, Pastor Kim Brien, Woody Brien, Deacon Joe for praying with her, all the family and friends who came to see her while she was at the hospitals.

Arvelos was tired and was ready to go to be with the Lord. She is pain free now and we believe she is dancing in heaven with our Savior Jesus Christ, and her family that have passed on.

I am very sorry for your loss of Arvelos, I thought very much of her, I always remember she was with me when my son Joseph Whitewolf, III arrived, the ambulance driver, Mr. Sooktis (I can’t remember his first name) took us to Crow and here we ran out of gas before we could get to Crow, so…my dad had Ralph Howe go and escort us to Crow, with sirens and all. There I was at the time thought I was dying from the pain and Arvelos said “Oh geez Lucille let go of my hand you’re gonna break it” then she started laughing. It was quite the “grand entry” we made. I will always remember her with great respect and love. Again my condolences to you all. I will never forget my “first” in-laws.
