It is so tough to let a Mother go… she must have been a brave woman to come out West from England. I remember your folks as always having a sense of humor. I share sadness for your loss. Blessing from all three Nightingale sisters in Billings, I will spread the word.

I am so sorry to read of Audrey’s passing. She was such a hoot. I always enjoyed her bantering when I would see her and Bennie. I have great memories! Much love to Audrey’s family.
Mollie Phipps says
Audrey was such a character she made me laugh on so many occasions. Her and Benny used to walk by my house when my kids were little and we enjoyed catching up many times. We reminisced about the old miles and ulmer days. When my gramma moved into hearts and homes we reacquainted and she was so tickled to see the boys so big. Many times I would be sitting in her chair while gramma was eating breakfast and she would come through the kitchen and say” you better get out or I’ll throw you through the door”. I also used to say well here you are and she would say …. well where did you think we went the Bison? It became a joke every single time. I was able to joke with her about it one more time at holy rosary! May you be comforted by the fact that she is with family and the lord. She was one of a kind for sure!

My thoughts and prayers are with Audrey’s family at this time. She was a special lady who will be missed by many. I always loved her dry sense of humor and fondly remember she and Benny at every Methodist Church function there was – always lending a hand. Decorating the church this year and placing Benny’s memorial – the nativity – in the crèche had special meaning this year! I am sure he was there waiting for her – RIP Audrey. God Bless!

Audrey was an one of kind woman. She had the smiles and sense of humor to make any of us CNA’s day a little bit better here at holy rosary. I will always remember sitting with her to talk about what book she was reading and how it was going. She always made my day brighter by adding some sass and love. It was an honor to care for her and get to know her. She was a part of our family and we will deeply miss her. Sending prayers to her family in this time of loss.

Miss Audrey and I grew very close over the past year while I cared for her at HRH. She was a hoot, always making me smile or laugh about something. I always wondered why she received the kind of goodies she did, I did not know she was born in England, that is so cool, I wish I could visit with her about that now!! Your mother was a very special lady to me and she will forever hold a piece of my heart, I miss her dearly already, my shifts just aren’t the same. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and I hope you find comfort in knowing that Audrey was very loved here at HRH <3

While I was attending MCC in the mid-70’s, I chanced to move into an apartment next door to the Stones, and then I got the opportunity to work with Audrey at H & T. What a wonderful, loving and all around terrific lady! She always had a smile for me. My heart breaks that I hadn’t seen her in several years. Hugs and prayers for comfort to the family.
Debby says

Audrey was a great lady. She was the volunteer treasurer for the Sister Ruth Crop Walk for many years while Benny walked. She did not have much patience when she retired from that position and the next treasurer was not as prompt about depositing the checks.
She also was a dear volunteer at church and always kept us entertained with jokes. We will miss her, but know that she is with Benny and many departed friends. God send his comfort and peace to her friends and family left behind.
Maureen Klapmeier says
Audrey was such a delightful little lady. She brightened our day when she sat at Bill’s dining table at Holy Rosary Extended Care. Her quick wit was enjoyed by many and she will be missed.
Valerie Stone Thome says
Myself my husband, Brian and my brother, David will miss mom a lot. We always had a fun time while visiting her in Miles City. Taking her out for lunch or dinner or joining the coffee gang at Wendy’s we will miss that a lot also. I won’t have anyone to share an order of fish and chips with. Love you lots mom. RIP.
Barb and Tom says
We loved Audrey and Bennie. Lots of great memories of church events and later in life too. We were honored to know such wonderful people.
Marc & Denise Hartse says
Denise and I will miss Audrey, we both worked with her in the 70’s. For years we always looked forward to seeing her and Benny at Freese’s Fourth Of July and Christmas parties and also at other functions around town. When Denise and I were married she pulled me aside and told me if I ever hurt Denise I’d have to answer to her. Through the years she repeated that threat more than once. I’ll miss that.
Our sincerest condolences to the Stone family. Audrey was a wonderful woman.
Kent and Marci Fandrich says
