Aurelia Littlebird – Blackbear, Ma’ heono’see’e (Medicine Dancer Woman), was born December 23, 1947 to Harry Littlebird and Anna Joyce (King) Littlebird in Ashland, and passed away Wednesday February 1, 2017 in the Mercy Hospital In Oklahoma City, OK.
Aurelia was raised in Lame Deer and graduated from St. Labre Indian Mission in 1967. In 1968 and 1969 she served as a Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Missionary while in Chinle, Arizona. She then moved to Dallas, Texas where she attended Baylor Medical Center and achieved her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree in 1971.
She married Eugene Blackbear on November 29, 1976 in Weatherford, Oklahoma and they have made their homes in Tulsa, Watonga, Lame Deer, and moved to Watonga in 1990. She has worked as a nurse in most of these locations and most recently had worked for the Indian Health Services in Clinton, El Reno, and Watonga.
She was a member of the Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints; a member of the NAC and she was a proud member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe; she enjoyed the traditional ceremonies, cooking traditional food , doing bead work, singing, and she was always smiling and happy.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Limona Littlebird.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene Blackbear, of the home, two sisters, Stella Redwolf Blackbear, and Wilma Joyce Blackbear, both of Watonga; she is also survived by numerous brothers, sisters and 10 grandchildren.

Prayers for Eugene and family. I went to grade school with Aurelia in Lame Deer. Aurelia sat behind me during most of our classes. I will miss her smiling face whenever I saw her and Eugene at the pow wows.
