Barbara Hardy, age 59 of Miles City, Montana, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2006 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care after a long illness.
Barbara was born on January 16, 1946 in Miles City, Montana, the daughter of Norman H. and Elydia M. (Roberts) Willson. She was raised and attended schools in Miles City and was united in marriage to Jack Hardy on January 26, 1963 in Miles City. They lived on the ranch southeast of Miles City on the Mizpah for twenty years. Barb loved being on the ranch and helping with the livestock and haying. They moved to Wyoming where Jack worked in the oil fields and Barb was a waitress. They moved back to Miles City in 1987 where Barb graduated from Miles Community College with her secretarial degree. In 1989, she was diagnosed with lung cancer and MEN type 1, which she has bravely battled ever since. In 1996, Barb purchased Cottage Phone Service that she operated until 2005. Barb loved taking pictures, playing pool in the Miles City pool league, but most of all she loved her family and lived for family gatherings.
Barb is survived by her husband Jack Hardy of Miles City, MT, her son Wes Hardy and his wife Marjy of Miles City, MT, two daughters; DOna and her husband Scott Pierce of Sheridan, WY, and Destiny Hardy and her fianc Levi Carlson of Miles City, MT, five brothers; Lee Willson and his wife Joyce of Rosebud, MT, Norm Willson and his wife Laura Jane of Kinsey, MT, Jim Willson and his wife Ann, Rick Willson and his wife Dolores, and Dave Willson and his wife Chelle all of Miles City, MT, fourteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Wade in 2003, four children at infancy, and an infant brother, Jackie.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Should friends wish condolences may be sent to the family by visitingwww.stevensonandsons.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
