Barbara Jane Lindau, age 71, of Miles City passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at her home in Miles City.
Barbara was born in Ada, Oklahoma on May 4, 1936, the daughter of Jesse Orville and Jewell (Rodgers) Bandy. She grew up and attended school in Oklahoma. She worked as a nanny until she married Charles FrankLindau in Billings, Montana in 1960. They raised foster children while they lived in Billings. In 1982, when Charles passed away, Barbara moved to Fayetteville, Oklahoma moving to Miles City in 1987 to be near family and made her home here since.
Barbara volunteered at schools in Miles City working with Kindergarten classes. She also worked for Headstart in Arkansas for a short time after her husband passed away while spending time with her family. She loved animals.
Barbara is survived by her only child, Elizabeth Beth Miles of Miles City, MT: three sisters: Joan Benson of Alexander, AK; Betty (Ronald) Brashier of Ada, OK; and Nora (Ricky) Hill of Fredrick, OK; a brother, Jack (Flora) Crump of Lawton, OK; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren and on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Condolences may be sent to the family by visitingwww.stevensonandsons.com.
