I hope Barb knew how much I loved her and how much of an impact she had on me. She was my Sunday School Teacher when I was 5 years old, and was a nurturing, peaceful presence in my life – at that time and ever since. We’ve stayed in touch my entire life, only losing touch briefly when I was in college, and I am 53 years old now. She was someone who didn’t just speak about her beliefs; she was a role model of love and compassion and goodwill. She lived her values. I can still remember how she made me feel so incredibly special as a 5-year-old in her class, frequently saying how proud she was of me. Her confidence gave me confidence. It may even have shaped my desire to make a difference in the lives of others through my own work. (Paying it forward.) I frequently talk about the ripple effect one person can have, and Barb was certainly someone who created that ripple in my life and I’m hoping I can keep spreading it outward. I’m so glad my mom and I got to visit her last year when we were visiting from Ohio. (My mom was a dear friend of hers, and whether they happened to live near or far from one another at different times in their lives, they always remained in touch and held each other in the highest esteem.) Barb – My mom (Judy) and I will miss you dearly. May you rest in peace and enjoy your reunion with Irvin.

Barbara and Irvin were our neighbors when we first moved to Miles City. Enjoyed our friendship.

My Aunt Barb was certainly a special lady who I’ll miss chatting with every now and then. Although she lived in Montana and I in Wisconsin, we had a wonderful relationship with many cards and letters being sent both directions throughout many years. Barb was my dad’s ‘baby’ half sister whom he also had a special place in his heart for. As a kid, our summer vacations primarily were heading west to visit family. My last in person visit with her was a trip in 2010 where my husband and I met up with my sister Lana & her husband (they came from Arizona) just to visit our Montana relatives! We spent the majority of the visit with Aunt Barb and Uncle Irvin having such a nice time. May she rest in peace 🙏

My husband & I have known the Steinert Family for many years. My husband”s parents, Orville & Juanita Haynes were close friends to Irvin & Barbara for many years. Through our church, I shared many Women Ministry Events with the church ladies, including Barbara. I graduated with Rocky in 1969. My brother Randy Meade was a close friend to Mark and since Bob & I have been mowing the lawn at the Econo Lodge, we see Tracy & Cora every week. The loss of a parent is so sad and we wish all the family peace & comfort, knowing that their Mom is in the arms of the Lord and is back with Irvin. God bless you all!

So sorry to hear about Aunt Barbara. I thought of her often. Remembering the times she took us to Sunday school. I know we weren’t close but you all have had a special place in my heart. Aunt BARBARA laid the foundation and JESUS IS MY LORD. May GOD hold you all safely through this hard time.

Sharon and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I loved Barb and Irvin when I took care them for Home Health-they were one of my favorite stops. They were always smiling and so loving to each other. Barb’s smiling face will be missed.
