Bart Kutt, age 55, of Oklahoma, formerly of Miles City

Bart was born in Cut Bank Montana on September 11, 1964 to Allen and Myrna. We unexpectedly lost Bart in June of 2020. This tragedy leaves no words and a sadness that will never be forgotten. He was a father, son, brother, and friend to everyone. Bart was loving and kind. He always wore a smile and got quite the kick out of teasing others. He also had a deep abiding faith in our Lord!
When his daughter Lauren was born, it was one of his happiest and proudest moments of his life. He was always so proud of her. From the time she was a foot tall, to the young adult she is today, “You’ll always be my little girl”, he would say.
Bart’s independence drove his mother nuts. As a young boy he was a,” I can do it myself” kind of kid. Bart grew up with his brother Scott, hunting, fishing, camping, skiing, and building whatever they could find to nail together. Anything that could be done outside with his dad and brother he was right alongside them.
Bart had a real fear of bears and stayed in his dad’s hip pocket when fishing streams. “It’s just a little ‘ol black bear” Dad would say to him. He started bowling at age three at his Grandpa’s bowling alley and found himself a hobby. He loved chocolate chip cookies almost as much as his dog Buttons.
Bart graduated from Custer County High School in 1983. He wrestled and was an active member of FFA with his brother and Jimmy. He could not wait till hunting season and skipped school every year to go elk hunting. While in high school and junior high, he worked on the Lander’s and Champion’s Ranches. He really liked attending brandings whether they were for work or fun. Bart loved blue and wore his blue hoodie to school regardless of what was under it. Mom had to steal it to wash it. He enjoyed participating in the BUMP and RUNS with Jim and other buddies. He never stood still for more than a second. He had numerous excursions of hunting and fishing with his Brother, dad and special friends Jim Anderson and Rick Himmelspach. He enjoyed riding his horse “jug head”, Velvet.
After graduation, Bart enlisted in the United States Army. He spent three years in Germany working in communications. He made certain he was going to make the most out of his time there, from Octoberfest, bumper cars, site seeing and much more. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1986.
After the Army, Bart went to NDT Tech School in Minnesota which led to his life’s work. He traveled and worked across the United States for a living. When he was home on days off, you found him in his shop tinkering around, building, and working on his pickup. If you wanted something done, he was always there to help. He had the talent to fix anything from a sink to overhauling a truck.
Bart lived his life to the fullest every step of the way. He found the good in everyone and treated everyone as if they were family.
Bart is preceded in death by his Grandparents Harold and Maxine Hale, Hal and June Kutt, Uncle Sam and Uncle Bill, infant nephew Caleb. Surviving Bart are: Daughter Lauren, Parents Allen and Myrna, Brother Scott (Beth), Nieces Kim and Kassie, Aunt Sandy, Cousins Belinda, and Brenda, and many second cousins. And his very special friend Erin and boys.
Bart loved children! So, if anyone desires memorials can be made to any child organization of your choosing in memory of Bart.

  52. Bart is my very best friend. Will always be. I miss him more than words can say. My boys and I loved him DEARLY and he loved us just as much. There won’t be a day that I won’t think of him and wish he were here with us. Bart was an amazing guy, great Friend, loving Father, heart of gold, ornery and funny and stole my heart. I cherish all the memories, good and bad, everything in between, I am so grateful to have had a true friend in life like him. Everyday my Knight in Shining Tin Foil Armor!! I love you Barticus.   59. I met Bart while on a job a year ago. He did like to tease a bit, but all in fun! He was very knowledgeable and kind. He even gave me materials I needed to study for my CWI. I was so shocked to hear of his passing. Condolences to his family as he will be missed.

  63. Bart was one of a kind. I met him 9 yrs ago through Erin & friends. He was like one of the girls. He was always there for us. I had not been as close these past couple of years but never doubted he would be there if you needed him. He was sweet, kind & onery funny. He was the first time i ever heard piss a dear lol. I’m heartbroken of his passing. I pray for his family during this rime. God bless y’all
