Beatrice Gertrude Dora Sept, age 80, of Miles City, formerly of Brockway passed away on February 5, 2011 due to courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Beatrice was born to Henry and Emily Stark in Lebanon, Wisconsin on April 20, 1930, the second youngest of eight children. She had five sisters and 2 brothers. Beatrice moved to Brockway to work on the Haglund Ranch in 1947. She met Herbert Sept and they were married on November 25, 1949 in Fallon, MT. They lived on the family farm for ten years. When Herb took a job in construction his job took them through Wyoming, Colorado and back to Montana.
After returning to Montana she managed the Brockway Cafe for several years. She was well known for her good home cooking which she also offered in the restaurants in Circle and Brockway. She loved pleasing people and seeing that no one left hungry. Many times her recipes were featured in Rural Montana Magazine. She was also well known for her love of cats and no strays were left unfed.
In addition to her husband Herb she is survived by her six children; Randy Sept of Las Vegas, NV, Sandra (Preston) Rea of Picayune, MS, Linda (Leslie) Kassner of Glendive, MT, Darwin (Shirley) Sept of Wolf Point, MT, Darrell (Sarah) Sept of Billings, MT and Kevin (Jody) Sept of Miles City, MT. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 8, 2011 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday February 9, 2011 at 1:30 pm in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home with burial at a later date in the family plot of the Brockway Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Custer County Fund for Animals.
