Benjamin Winkley, age 36, of Miles City, Montana passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ben was born in Miles City, Montana on September 7, 1974, He grew up and attended schools in Miles City and in and around Wadena, Minnesota. After graduation, hehad various jobs in Miles City, Missoula, and central Minnesota, including his own business as a roofing contractor.He loved hisgirls and worked hard to provide for them. Ben enjoyed restoring and fixingcars, listening to all kinds of music, collecting and reading books and collecting foreign coins. He loved watching movies, fishing, hunting, and finding rocks and agates ofall types. He was known for helping anyone at the drop of a hat, whether it was roofing, remodeling, fixing a car or just the heavy lifting. He was funny, smart, sarcastic, strong and loved by all who really knew him.
Ben is survived by his parents: Jerry Heick Sr. of Baker, MTand Clara Louise Winkley of Miles City, MT; three daughters: Kiana Winkley of Miles City, MT; Mikaela Youngs of Park Rapids, MN; and Tiara (Winkley) Furigay of Miles City, MT; two brothers: Jerry Heick Jr. of Glendive, MT and Steve Heick of Miles City, MT; a sister, Beth Calson and her son Keifer of Miles City, MT; and girlfriend Kristine Powell and her daughter Joani of Miles City, MT.
Ben's extended families includedthe Lamb's of Minnesota and Montana and the Wolfblack/Luttrell's of Miles City. Heis also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 22, 2010 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City with family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will be held at a later date. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
