Bernard White, Taaxeme, “Wallowing” of Busby passed away on March 7, 2022.
He was the son of Stamper White and Julia Seminole Eaglefeathers. He is the fourth generation descendent of Chief Morning Star/Dullknife. He grew up and attended school in Busby.
Bernard married Barbar Jo Ridenour from Miles City and Forsyth in 1970. They later divorced.
He comes from the lineage of Chiefs his grandfather was chief, his father Stanford White did not want to be a chief he stated that was too great a responsibility.
On the other side of the family, he was a fourth-generation decedent of Morning Star and his mother was Third Generation decedent of Morning Star one of the famous Cheyenne Chiefs.
Bernard at a young age he had his own horses. There was one horse that he loved it was a Sorrell mare that he used to use as a racehorse on the morning charge at our sundances, he always came in first and the family would have a give-away for him right after the morning charge.
Bernard was also a bull rider in his younger years. He knew how to make his own Bull Rope from twine. He had his own gear, boots, spurs, and chaps.
His parents and sisters, Rena Littlehead, Rose Eaglefeathers and brothers: Sam, Milton and Glen Eaglefeathers; granddaughter, Arvanda “Jill” Stewart”; grandson, Shawn Long Sioux; nieces, Theda Eaglefeathers, and Claudia BearQuiver preceded Bernard in Death.
Survivors include nieces, Pauline Eaglefeathers, Mildred Eaglefeathers, Mary Green; nephew Clifford Eaglefeathers, Clifford Longsioux, numerous grandchildren and Dullknife descendants, too many to mention.
