Internment: Burial will be in the family lot in the Forsyth Cemetery
Betsy Ross, age 72, of Forsyth, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at the Rosebud Health Care Center.
Betsy was born on April 16, 1931 at Eau Claire, Wisconsin the daughter of Harry and Ida (Lehmann) Daniels. At a young age her mother passed away and Betsy was left to care for her younger brothers and sisters. After her graduation from Augusta, Wisconsin she and her sister Betty moved to Forsyth, Montana. In the late 1940s, Betsy began working with the U.S.D.A. On November 4, 1950, Betsy was united in marriage to Jim Ross in Forsyth, MT. To this union, two sons were born Rod and Ronny. Betsy and Jim made their home in Forsyth where Betsy continued to work for the U.S.D.A. for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1985. Betsy enjoyed gardening, crocheting, canning, and was an avid bowler for over thirty years, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Betsy is survived by two sons, Rodney L. and Ronny J., both of Forsyth, three grandchildren Chad Ross of Seattle, Washington, Jasa Jo Fulton and her husband Jim of Shepherd, MT and Scott of Texas and one great-grandchild Brayden, four sisters; Edna Stevens of Richland Center, WI, Betty McKeever of Phoenix, AZ, Dorothy Heitke and her husband Dick of Beloit, WI and Nancy Ball and her husband Merlin of Augusta, WI as well as her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim in May of 2003, her parents, and four brothers; James (Bud), Kenny, Donald and Alvin.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 12, 2003 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Forsyth. Burial will be in the family lot in the Forsyth Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, July 11, 2003 from 1:00 until 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Forsyth. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Forsyth is in charge of the arrangements.
