MILES CITY—Betty B. Currie, age 88, of Miles City passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021, in Windsor, CO.
Betty was born in Louisiana in 1932, the daughter of Hazel and Jim Cooper. She graduated Sparks High School in 1950. On September 15, 1951, Betty married Pat O. Currie in Reno, NV.
In her early years, she worked in accounting and bookkeeping for a bank and a finance and mortgage company, and as a teletype and telegraph operator during the Korean War period.
After Betty and Pat moved to Miles City in 1978, she served on the boards of the WaterWorks Art Museum (formerly the Custer County Art and Heritage Center), and the Custer County Art Center Foundation. From 1984-2010, Betty held offices as President, Treasurer, and Co-Treasurer.
Betty was a member of the P.E.O., Chapter K in Miles City and Chapter U in Windsor, CO. She served as Chapter K President, on the Montana State Board, and as Montana State President in 1998-1999. Betty served on numerous committees in both Chapters. She enjoyed her P.E.O. sisters and their accomplishments in advancing educational opportunities for women.
Betty enjoyed the multitude of potlucks in the Miles City area and was an avid sports fan, particularly baseball, golf, and tennis. She loved the Brooklyn Dodgers and never did get over the team moving to Los Angeles.
Her proudest accomplishment was her children and grandchildren. She will be missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Sorry to fall into this info, I loved this Woman, lots of memories from days gone by. Our families lived across the street from each other in Ft. Collins, boy some times growing up in late 60’s early 70’s, all us kids. Sorry Marcie, your Mom was very cool to me, when I came back from overseas in the Army, she would talk to me and listen to my BS stories, Grand Woman! Boy, how the wind can blow! You and all your family take care. I remember every now and then, that’s what counts……..
