Betty Louise Lapp, age 100, of Terry, Montana passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at her home.
Betty was born in a farmhouse near Brush, Colorado on July 3, 1924, the daughter of George and Edna (Case) Hagler. In a large caravan of cars, the family moved to a farm north of Savage, Montana in 1929 to raise sugar beets. Betty attended school in Savage for 12 years. She graduated from high school in 1942. Betty married George Lapp in July of 1942. In 1943, George was inducted into the Army and served three years during World War II. Their son Gary was born in 1943 and George never saw him until he was 2 ½ years old. The family moved to a farm west of Terry on a new irrigation project in 1948. During this time, they had three other children: Kathy, Susan and Duane. George passed away in 2001.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, four siblings: Leonard (Alice) Hagler, Lois (Matt) Mathison, Alice (Elwood) Pregan and Robert (Charlotte) Hagler.
Betty is survived by her four children: Gary (Kim) Lapp, Kathy (Andy) Powell, Susan (Steve) Davidson Raisler, and Duane Lapp, eight grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren.

I only saw her like 2-3 times a year but she is my hero, I’ve always looked up to her and honestly she was a bit of a baddie, I always wanted to ask questions about her life but didn’t have a chance. I’ll miss you Great Gma

I think of Mrs. Lapp every May Day. About 28 years ago, son, Jim, surprised Mrs. Lapp with a May basket. He did this for a few years, finally getting caught, hugged and kissed. Such a fun, loving memory for us all. May you all be wrapped in loving memories during this sad time.
