Betty Lee Rickett, 96, of Forsyth, formally of Miles City and Billings MT, passed away January 5th, 2026, at the Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth.
Betty was born August 6th, 1929, in Argenta, MT, the daughter of George and Lilly Knapp. On November 18th, 1944, she was wed to Charles Rickett of Imperial, NE, in Bastrop, TX while he was on leave for the Military during WWII. They had 5 children, Charles (Jim), Rick (George), David (Ed), Richard (Pat), and Susan. Betty also had 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 13 great great grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Ed (Sheila), son Pat, and daughter Susan (Robert).
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Charles, sisters: Frances, Martha, Margret, and Georgina, brother James, sons: Jim and George, daughter-in-law Hazel, grandsons: AC and Michael, granddaughter Kim, great grandson Trace and great great grandson Aaron.
Betty’s radiant smile and generous heart touched all who had the blessing of knowing her. Her warmth and kindness were a source of comfort and strength to those around her. Betty loved being active with her church groups and loved the people she met through church activities. She made friends wherever she went and seemed to always be able to associate and connect with someone through their relatives or mutual friends, after talking with them for a couple minutes. Especially, if they were from or knew someone in Montana. Betty was always outgoing and helpful to everyone she met.
She completed her GED in 1985. For many years she was a certified caregiver and provided home care for the elderly. She also spent time as a cook, a teachers aid, and a retail clerk.
A viewing will be held on January 16, 2026, with family receiving friends from 9 am to 11 am at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. A funeral service will follow at 11am at the same location with burial to follow at Custer County Cemetery. After the grave side services there will be a luncheon at the Parlor across the street from the funeral home, 1806 Main Street.

My sympathies to the Rickett family. I can remember her as a sweet easy going lady. I hung out with her sons as a kid in the late 60’s. Seems like there was always food, and a bed if needed. Betty was a very loving person. World needs more Betty’s

To Betty’s family please accept my condolences. When I was a little kid I lived a block away from Betty and spent time at her house and played with her kids. Those were pleasant memories
