Betty Jeanne Ries, age 77 of Forsyth passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2008.

Betty was born on September 5, 1930 the daughter of Leslie Edward and Helene Marie (Walters) Jone's in Rockford, Illinois. She graduated June 4, 1947 in Owensboro, Kent. Following her graduation she attended college at Webster Grove in Missouri and Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City, Iowa receiving her training in Operating Room Technology. She was united in marriage to her loving and devoted husband David William Ries on December 6, 1953 in Austin, Texas. Together they set out to Montana, traveling and experiencing the 50 states. They came back home to Montana in 1989. Betty was a lover of life and a blessing to all who knew her. She was a mother to all children. Betty started St. Georges Friendship Kitchen to feed the hungry in Post Falls, Idaho. She was also a sponsor of Foreign Children.She was preceded in death by her parents; her children, David Leslie, John Edward and Barbara Anne; her brother Robert Edward Jone's and sister Carol Jone's.

Betty is survived by her husband David of 54 years together; her children, Susan Marie, William Brian, Joseph Edward, Thomas Michael, Laura Anne and Daniel Nathan; her joyful seventeen grandchildren and her two precious great grandchildren Lillee Ann and Alena.
