Beulah Basta, age 101, of Glendive went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care with her family at her bedside.
Beulah was born on April 19, 1908 at Tully, North Dakota. She celebrated her 101st birthday on April 19, 2009. Beulah has seen many changes in her lifetime from horse and buggy to our modern day vehicles. On May 30, 1924 she married Glenn Mitchell in McCone County. Glenn passed away in November of 1980. Beulah worked in many places including Eastmont. Besides her family of twelve, she was foster parent to ten children. In April 1984, she married Rudy Basta. Rudy passed away in December 1989.
She was preceded in death by two sons: Calvin G. Mitchell, Lawrence (Larry) L. Mitchell. Survivors include five sons: Marvin (Beverly) Mitchell, Stanley (Margie) Mitchell, Everett (Viola) Mitchell, Ron (Donna) Mitchell, Ervin (Darlene) Mitchell; five daughters: Kathryn (Nathan) Miller, Eloise (John) Cullinan, Shirley (Dan) Bowlds, Harriett (Mike) Ames, Marilyn (Gene) Jorgenson, forty five grandchildren, one hundred ten great grandchildren, eighty two great great grandchildren, and special friends of the family, Alice (Bill) Cullinan.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Christian Alliance Church in Glendive. A family service will follow at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Christian Alliance Church in Glendive. Interment will follow at 4:30 p.m. in the family lot of the Country Cross Cemetery near Glendive. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
