Funeral Service: 0:00 am on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at the Antelope Valley Baptist Church

Interment: will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery following the service

Funeral service for Bev Carey will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at the Antelope Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Marty Crump of the Family Life Church in Gillette, Wyoming officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home in Gillette, Wyoming.

Mrs. Carey, age 77, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on May 2, 2005 at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming after a short illness.

Beverly Lou Carey known to her friends and family as Bev was born on April 8, 1928 in Rapid City, South Dakota the daughter of Harold W. and Ruth (Yount) Johnson. She was raised and educated in Rapid City, South Dakota. After graduating high school in 1946 she attended the University of Wyoming from 1946-1950 where she met and married James W. Scotty Carey. The couple married in their senior year in Rapid City, South Dakota at the Presbyterian Church on September 10, 1949. After the couple graduated they moved to Powell, Wyoming where Scotty was employed with Stanolind Oil Company in Elk Basin, Wyoming. Bev worked for Oilwell Supply for six months until their first daughter Cheryl was born in Powell, Wyoming on February 13, 1953. The family moved to Denver where their second daughter Michelle was born on August 19, 1956. After her children were born she devoted all of her time to her family. After moving a couple more times the family came to Gillette, Wyoming in 1972 where they have resided since. Bev was an avid bridge player and an active member of the Antelope Valley Baptist Church.

Bev is survived by her husband, Scotty Carey of Gillette, Wyoming; two daughters, Cheryl Provencio of Nampa, Idaho; Michelle Johnson of Cheyenne, Wyoming; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, step father, and one step sister.

A memorial has been established in Bevs name to benefit the Senior Center in Gillette, Wyoming. Condolences and memorials may be sent in care of the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home 210 W. 5th Street, Gillette, Wyoming or via the internet at www.stevensonandsons.com.
