Beverly Ann Rogers Barta was born on June 25, 1948 in Custer, Montana and passed away on June 10, 2024. Bev was the youngest of twelve children born to Beulah (Ferguson) and Frank Rogers. She married the love of her life, Sonny Barta, on May 16, 1964 and together they built a beautiful life on a farm west of Forsyth. Their union was blessed with four children: Shane, Cory, Tina, and Frankie. Bev’s devotion to her family was unwavering; she loved her children and grandchildren deeply and was always the heart of their gatherings. Bev was renowned for her exceptional fried chicken and mashed potatoes and gravy, often prepared with love for a crowd. Her home was a haven of warmth and hospitality, where her children’s friends were always welcomed with a smile and a warm meal. Bev’s generous spirit knew no bounds—she would give everything she had to help others, even when she had little herself. Her compassionate nature extended beyond her family to the elderly people she assisted, forming special bonds with those she cared for. Bev was known for her boundless energy, her meticulous attention to cleanliness, and her drive to keep everything in order—a trait fondly remembered by all who knew her. Bev’s heart always carried the weight of missing her beloved Sonny, and now she finds peace, reunited with her life partner. She leaves behind her cherished children: Shane (Molly) Barta of Billings, and Cory (Serena) Barta, Tina (Rocco) Toscano, Warren (like a son) and Frankie Barta, all of Forsyth. Bev is also survived by her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Brennan (Charmayne), Abby, Taylor (Josh), Wyatt, Toby, Sage, Cash, Travis and Paisley. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings Betty Taylor and Judy Rogers. Bev’s legacy of love, generosity, and warmth will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. A celebration of Bev’s life will be held on Friday, June 14 at 2:00 PM at the Rosebud Community Chapel in Rosebud, Montana. She found solace and spiritual fulfillment at this church, a place she wished she had discovered sooner. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to The Rosebud Community Chapel PO Box 83, Rosebud, MT 59347. Rest in peace, Bev. Your spirit and love will forever light our way.

We are saddened by the loss of this beautiful lady whom we were privileged to get to know when we did music at Sunset and RHCC. She was a great encouragement as she repeatedly expressed her appreciation for the music we shared with the residents monthly. Our thoughts are with you, her family, as you adjust to life without this delightful woman! May God comfort and sustain each of you.

Our sincere sympathy to all of Bev’s family on the loss of such a special soul. Bev and I grew up together in Custer; she was a year younger than me and Judy a year older than me. We did so many things together. Always lots of fun was had. Their home was always full of friends and family and good food. Then when my husbsnd Harold moved to Montana he became friends with Bev’s brother Jack and really the whole family. It was always good to run on to Sonny and Bev and have a big visit and catch up. So glad that they are together again. Rest in Peace, Bev. You will be missed.

To Bev’s family. I got to know Bev at the Sunrise Assisted Living facility. Her and my mom became best of friends while she lived there. She welcomed me with a big smile and a hug when I went to visit my mom. I missed seeing Bev when she left. But, mom and I know she is in the best place and no more pain. One day mom and Bev will see each other again. Thoughts and prayers to you all.

Shane, Corey, Frankie, Tina & Barta families….eternal life has been given to Beverly (“For My Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:40); and Jesus met Beverly to take her to be where He is (“You believe in God, believe also in Me. My Father’s house has many rooms….I am going there to prepare a place for you. I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:1-3). Our prayer is that you find comfort in God’s word and what it teaches us. Your mom and dad live in heaven; your memories will keep them alive in your hearts and in your lives. May God bless you with love, laughter and happy tears as you cherish your memories of Sonny and Bev. We will surely cherish ours.

Cory and family of Bev: I was not there very long but Bev and Sonny treated my like I was one of their family. It is hard for me to think of two nicer people I have ever met. May they both be at peace and back together where they belong. My heart goes out to all of you!
