Beverly Jean Breitbach (Derry), 64, of Brockway, Montana passed away unexpectedly while visiting friends on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019.
Bev was born in 1955 to Frank and Betty (Anderson) Derry of Libby, Montana, joining her older brothers John and George. She had many fond memories of growing up along Granite Creek, exploring, playing, and fishing with her brothers. She graduated from Libby High School in 1973 and stayed in the area for several years to work and help her mom.
Bev moved to Circle, Montana in 1977 for a job managing the Midway Bar. There she met Paul Breitbach, who she married in 1978. The couple had two children together, Jon Paul and Amanda, and they lived on the Breitbach family farm for many years. They later divorced, but Bev remained close to the family.
After moving to town, Bev worked a variety of jobs before she found a position as the groundskeeper and custodian for Mid-Rivers Telephone Cooperative. She married her second husband, Gus Kamp, in 1999, and became stepmother to his daughters Amanda and Meranda. Together, Bev and Gus purchased the Brockway Supper Club, which they enjoyed operating. It was the perfect job for Bev. She loved visiting with friends who stopped in (for her, there were no strangers – just friends she hadn’t met yet), catering weddings and celebrations, and cooking community meals for holidays.
Bev was friendly, outgoing, and generous to a fault. She was the ultimate mom, grandma and homemaker: decorating special birthday cakes, growing an enormous vegetable garden, canning and preserving, and sewing clothing for her family. She had a big heart, a great sense of humor and an adventurous spirit. Some of her favorite things to do were riding motorcycles and traveling with Gus, visiting friends, and bragging about her beloved kids and grandkids.
Bev is survived by her loving husband Gus Kamp; two brothers, John Derry of Libby and George Derry of Fairview; a son, Jon (Jennifer) Breitbach of Butte; four daughters, Amanda (Ryan Ragsdale) Breitbach of Nacogdoches, TX, Jennifer Pulvermacher of Westby; Amanda Kamp of Denver, CO, and Meranda Kamp of Great Falls, one granddaughter, Kimberly Breitbach, and one grandson, Thomas Ragsdale. She will also be remembered and missed by many other family members and close friends.
A celebration of Bev’s life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 20. Burial will be in the Brockway Cemetery at 11 a.m., followed by a memorial at 12 p.m. at the Brockway Supper Club. Memories and condolences may be shared through Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home, https://stevensonfuneralhomes.com/.

I have some very good memories of living across the street from Bev and Gus when I moved to Circle. In true Bev style every now and then she would have pity on “the poor single guy” and would show up with a twinkle in her eye and some of her fantastic cooking. Always enjoyed visiting with her and will miss not having her around.
