Beverly Lucille Corbin of Medford, Oregon formerly of Miles City passed away in her sleep on August 5, 2009 in Medford, OR at the age of 86.
Beverly was born in Paw Paw, Michigan her parents were Robert and Dora Powell. Beverly traveled on vacation with her family during the Depression Era and spoke many times about her travels. After graduating from Albuquerque High School, Beverly enjoyed writing, studied under the guidance of southwest artist Niles Hogner and worked as a Secretary in Sacramento, CA. It was during a blind date, on Christmas Eve 1940 she would meet and eventually marry Harry Corbin of Albuquerque, NM.
Their marriage would bring eight children; Margaret Knorr (husband William) of Medford, OR, Mary Morris (husband Howard) of Tacoma, WA, Anne Heiser (husband Jerry) of Surprise, AZ, Robert Corbin (wife Patricia) of Forsyth, MT, William Corbin (wife Peggy) of Cheyenne, WY, David Corbin (wife Kathleen) of Miles City, MT, Frances Corbin of Medford, OR and Jane Corbin of Cedar Lake, IN; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Harry and Beverly would travel the United States and England during their marriage. While raising her family, she and Harry would teach each of their children the values and lessons of a strong family core, Christian values and the rewards of hard work. During retirement in Miles City, MT., Beverly would eventually lose her husband, of more than 50 years, in April 1999. Beverly moved to Medford, OR in July 2005. While living with her daughter Margaret, she received the care and support that she would need.
Memorial service will occur in Medford, OR on Saturday August 8, 2009 followed by a vigil service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City. Rite of Committal will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.
