In Memory Of

Beverly Watson, age 77, of Forsyth

March 27, 1947 – September 10, 2024

On September 10, 2024 Beverly Watson passed away after a long battle with dementia.  Her family was by her side at the time and she was surrounded by many loving friends and family in the days leading to her death.  Bev was 77 years old.

Bev was born in Portland, OR on March 27, 1947.  The daughter of James R. Petty and Sybil Petty Smith.  Bev spent time as a child in both Oregon and Washington with her mom and later graduated high school in Shepherd, MT with her dad and stepmom Jean Petty.  Bev went to beauty school and moved to work in Forsyth, MT in 1968 where she met Stan Watson.  Bev and Stan were married on May 9, 1970.

In 1977, Bev and Stan had their daughter Jody, and two years later, 1979 brought their son Justin.  After working for many years as a hairstylist, Bev made a job change and began working for the Forsyth School District as an Aide.

For those who knew Bev, you knew she loved her family more than anything.  She was blessed with every creative ability and painted, sewed, gardened and crafted everything around her.  Bev was always working on a project in the house with Stan, working in her beautiful flower beds around the house, helping at her church, taking pictures of the people and things she enjoyed, enjoying regular card games on Friday nights, and traveling to visit her kids and grandkids.  Wife, mom, grammy, Miss Bev, daughter, sister, Aunt and friend she was a talented and loving lady to everyone around her.

Bev is preceded in death by her mother Sybil Smith, dad James Petty, stepmom Jean Petty, brother Dale Petty and sister Connie Harris.

Bev is survived by her husband Stan, children Jody Verity and Justin Watson, grandchildren Maddie and Carsen Verity, brother Charlie Petty (Sue), her loving sisters-in-law and brother-in-law and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Even as memories became harder, Bev waited for Stan to visit her every single day in the nursing home after 54 wonderful years of marriage.  She was cherished by all who knew her and she will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Howard Valley Club, or the Rosebud Community Chapel.

A service will be held for Beverly on Saturday, September 21st at 1 pm at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home.  A lunch will be provided.  To leave condolences for the family, visit our website at www.stevensonandsons.com.

This world and her family and friends lost a wonderful lady with the passing of Miss Bev. I first met Bev in 1974 when she was a beautician, loved her razor cuts. When she was an aide to my niece, Abby, she became Miss Bev. Such a talented lady who brought joy to many. May her soul rest in peace!

We shared many, many activities from raising our children, painting, quilting, shopping, family food and fun, we even made a beautiful wedding dress years ago for our Pastor’s daughter! Many memories with the lovely lady and her family. My heart goes out to Stan, Jodi, Justin and the many family and friends who loved her dearly. We are comforted to know she is in a better place no longer tormented by a dreadful disease. Until we meet again, my friend….much love, laughter and many hugs.

Watching Stan (Donny) and Bev showed their deep love and respect for each other. Together with Jodi and Justin and their grandkids and friends, they had the meaning of family next to their love of the Lord. I feel I was blessed to have known her these long years and will grieve her passing along with many other. Bev will get her paintbrushes out and create beautiful things in heaven and the Lord will give her gardens to tend.

We will forever miss our wonderful friend, Bev. My home is decorated with many of her creative projects. I will cherish them forever. Earl and I will forever remember her beautiful spirit, her giving heart, and the many lives she touched in her lifetime. I loved having her as an aide at school. She had a special gift of being able to make me laugh out loud when I was having a bad day. She touched the lives of many children, and they adored her. She always had a cluster of kids around her when she had playground duty.
May you find comfort in warm memories. May it help knowing others are sharing this sorrow with you.

To Bev’s family, Bill and I are so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a kind, loving lady. For years, she would smile and wave at me when we passed on the road. The first time we met in public, she gave me a big hug and said, “Hi, neighbor,” and we have been friends ever since. I know you are going to miss your mom and know you are not alone. I know all these years later every time I drive on the old highway to Hysham I look for your mom and remember her warm smile and wave.
