We are saddened to announce Billie Jo Marie Valdez, Age 73, of Forsyth, Montana, passed away on January 8, 2025.
Billie was born October 29, 1951, in Forsyth, Montana, the daughter of Joseph August Morin and Patsy Lou Ross. At a young age, her family moved to Cleburne, Texas where she was known as Billie Jo Marie Jordan. Billie graduated from Cleburne High School in 1969, and married Garey Wylie on August 28, 1970. They had two children, Jason Ross Wylie born September 9, 1975, and Amber Michele Wylie born January 19, 1977. Later the same year Billie was baptized at College Heights Baptist Church on August 14, 1977. On April 8, 1983, Billie married Grover Lavender. For the following ten years, she worked as a bookkeeper and a loan officer at credit unions in Cleburne, Texas and Fort Worth, Texas before joining the staff at the Tarrant County Tax Office in Fort Worth. Billie married Jay Valdez on March 14, 1997. She retired from Tarrant County in 2010 and pursued her dream of returning to her home state of Montana and building a home there. She was widowed on May 4, 2021, when Jay passed away. Billie had an artistic side that she demonstrated with her stained-glass pieces displayed in her windows and cross-stitched artwork hanging on her walls. She especially loved gardening, cooking, baking, and enjoying time with her family. She will be remembered by her smile, her laugh, and her kindness.
Remaining to cherish Billie’s memory are son, Jason (Rachel) Wylie; grandchildren, Jacob and Caden Wylie; nephew, Tommy Jordan; aunt, Mary Jo Younglund; cousins Vickie (Dennis) Krause, Butch (Caprise) Gregory, Rod Ross, Ronnie Ross, Billy Ross (Mary) Smith, and Debby (Brian) Thoney.
Preceding Billie in death are spouse, Jay Valdez; daughter, Amber Wylie; father, Joseph Morin; mother, Patsy Ross Jordan; stepfather, Bob Jordan; sister, Barbie Jordan; aunt, Dixie Ross Kenney; aunt, Dorothy Ross Tallent; uncle, Art Gregory; aunt, Betsy Ross; and uncle, Jim Ross.
Funeral/Memorial services will be held at a future date. Interment will be in Forsyth, MT.
