In Memory Of

Blake Beeler, age 57, of Miles City

July 1, 1957 – May 23, 2015

Blake C. Beeler, age 57 of Miles City, passed away on May 23, 2015.

Blake was fun; he loved his family with abandon. When he smiled we all smiled with him. He impacted all of us, young and old, with his touch, his humor and his caring. He was a husband, a father, a mentor and a friend. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

Blake was born on July 1, 1957 in Billings, MT; the son of Wayne and Ilene (Brookbank) Beeler. Blake attended grade school at Mitchell, SD and moved to Miles City where he attended high-school. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of seventeen and was honorably discharged in 1988.   He earned the 1-163rd Infantry Battalion medal with his time in the Navy on November 22, 1988. He continued to serve his country in the Army National Guard with the rank of Sergeant in 1995.

Over the years, Blake attended the State of Montana Law Enforcement Academy Division and graduated in 1990. He worked at the Custer County Sherriff’s Department where he obtained the Coroner award on August 13, 1992. He also worked with the Rosebud County Sherriff Department for a few years starting in 1995. In the past few years, Blake established the Bee-Line Express contracting mail delivery for the U.S. Postal Service.

Blake’s first wife was Cynthia Mae Hoskins and to this union three children were born: Chad A., daughter Alisha N. and Christopher B. Later he married Shelly Marie Carlson, they have two children: Colter Duane and Sage Ilene. Blake and Laura Lee were married in Miles City. Through this marriage he gained two step-children, Chance and Casey Kalloch and their children.

Blake loved flowers and worked with the Miles City Green House. His passions include hunting, fishing and boating with his family and friends. He learned to call coyotes and loved doing it. He graduated from the School of Cosmetology in Washington and loved to cut hair for all of us. If you knew Blake you know that he loved dogs, cooking, gardening, cutting firewood in the fall, but most of all he treasured his time with his family. Blake was a selfless man and always willing to spend his time with his family and friends. He was a member of the National Cosmetology Association and Grace Bible Church.

Blake is survived by his wife Laura Lee Beeler the love of his life and best friend; his five children: Chad (Meghan)Hoskins and their children Ashton, Sara, Gavin, Caleb, Jonah, Blake; Alisha(Mathew)Hebden and their children Sage, Riley, Bailey, Olivia and Mathew Jr.; Christopher Beeler and his son Christopher; Colter Beeler and Sage Beeler; his step children: Chance Evan Kalloch and his children Brayan Harper Kalloch and Benson Hays Kalloch; step-daughter Casey Ann Marie Kalloch and her son Leland James Lockwood; his mother Ilene Brookbank and her special friend Wesley Johnson; his sisters: Teresa (Ricky) Hyatt of Centre, AL; Debra (Tommy) Boyd of Deatsville, AL; Sandra (Ken) Darling of Spencer, SD; Rebecca (Urias) of Scottsdale, AZ; Michael Kelling of Elmore, OK; Tonya Stroud and Bradley Stroud of Mitchell, SD; Addi ( Dean) Hanvold of Miles City; Dale (Chere’) Beeler of Eagle Point, OR; Sandra (Robert) Schoen of Otterville, MO; his uncle Corky Beeler of Auburn, WA; his aunt Merna Martelle of Miles City He was preceded in death by his father Wayne Beeler and sister Marilyn Adale Hanten. He leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins in his extended family.

The family that Blake leaves behind knows him as a man of honor and integrity. He openly loved his wife Laura, his children and grandchildren. Children loved Papa Blake and they flocked to him for the special attention that he showed them.

Laura, Colter, and Sage, I am sorry to hear of Blake’s passing. He was an extraordinary unique man that always had a smile on his face. Take comfort in knowing he loved you more than anything, every time I asked him how his kids and life were, his face always brightened up and his smile widened. He will dearly be missed by many, and forgotten by few. Rest in peace my friend.

Blake was a good friend. When we were younger we hunted and fished together a lot; and I’ll always remember the trips to the Tongue River Reservoir and hunting birds and deer at Belfry. We shared a lot of laughs and good times, and he was always up for a hunting or fishing adventure. He was one of those guys who was never down and would do anything for a friend. He will be missed.

Again, I offer you all my sincere condolences.

  20. Shelly says

    May 26, 2015 at 2:00 am

I am at a loss of words, but not feelings, my heart aches for all of Blake’s family– Laura Lee, her family and children; Granny Ilene, Blake’s mom; all of his brothers and sisters; his kids Chad, Chris and Alisha; and our kids Colter and Sage. To ALL of you kids, your dad loved you so much, he was and is so very proud of each and every one of you and the beautiful young adults that you are.

It breaks my heart, Colter and Sage that your dad, “your best friend” will not be here for so many of your FIRSTS, and yes Colter you still have lots of firsts, and Sagey you have many many first that are going to be so very hard for you. But know that your dad is always with you. He’s the touch on the shoulder when no ones around, he’s that special song that plays, he’s that breeze that comes up from no where or that certain smell of cologne that only he wears, and that little shiver that you just “know” says, “I’m here, I’m wrapping my arms around you and I will always love you.”

Laura, I don’t know what to say except that the time you and Blake had together was much to short. Yet, in that time you made a huge difference in his life and “Thank You” for that.

Blake, you will be greatly missed by all those who’ve ever met you, but never forgotten. Your Spirit will be in many a person’s heart, mine included.

My sincere condolences to the family of Blake Beeler. May you find comfort in your loving memories, and in God’s promise to soon “swallow up death forever” and “wipe away the tears from all faces.” (Isaiah 25;8) While grief at the loss of Blake is great, joy at welcoming him back in the resurrection will be greater. (Mark 5;42) With deepest sympathy,

When reflecting back on life, it is so short! God decided that he needed another rambunctious and loving angel to help him with his brood in heaven and he looked upon Blake and said that is “the one”! We will never know why he choses the ones he does at the time, but eventually we will understand… Laura Lee, you had finally let your love shine again through Blake and the time was so very short, but you know that you made his life complete. You still have lots of good memories to sustain you and cherish the time you had with Blake!! Sage….your dad was your everything! He loved you to infinity and beyond and know that he is by your side at all times and is ,now, your guardian angel. He will be the one to guide your through all those times that are to come in life in which you wanted Dad to be there Colt, I don’t really know you other than what your proud dad always said about you…and he was proud, so know his love for you was deep and genuine! Shelly, you will now be the rock and will fill the shoes of Blake that once did by being the parent to your children and I know that you will do it with love and understanding as you are an outstanding parent! To the rest of Blake’s family…keep his memories close to your heart and know that his is looking down on you at all times! Blake was quite a character that never met a stranger and could talk a leg off you when he saw you!! Rest in Peace there friend and keep everyone in line so God has some rest too!! I know you will do it!

I am sorry to hear that such a great father, grandpa, husband, friend and soldier has left us to be with God. I remember so many great times with Blake hunting over the past 40 years, the laughs, the smiles, the way he could lighten the hearts of people who were down, and bring a smile to their faces and their hearts by his kindness. Calling coyotes with him, the adventures, we shared. Being ran over by a coyote because he covered himself with a white sheet in the snow, having one about run us over from behind this past November as I called. I will miss you my friend, more than I can put into words. I know you will be there when I feel the breeze, feel the sun on my face, or feel you touch me in a song or adventure we once also shared. The memories of you will always be in my heart and a tear in my eye as I come to realize there is no more phone calls, no more hunts and no more memories to build between us. Go with God Blake, RIP my friend, I will see you when I see you, because for us, there are no good bye’s, friends are forever. Love you Bud., as you called me when we talked, always Jim-Bobski
