On January 7th, 2014 at 6:35 am, Bobbie Joseph Weyer went to ranch for our lord & savior after losing his battle with Pneumonia at the Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City. Bobbie was born on May 12, 1932 near Blue Mountain in rural Wibaux County to Joseph & Lucy (Tarbell) Weyer. He was #7 of 10 Children. He grew up on Beaver Creek & attended elementary school at the W-Bar school. He graduated from Wibaux County High School in 1950. Growing up in a large family during the depression, made him very conservative & learn to do with what you had (ie: his treasures).
Hard work was always part of Bobbie’s life. He ranched/farmed north of Wibaux his entire life. He also worked at the Wibaux Elevator, on oil rigs, & for the county to help support his family. He raised many good horses over the years & cattle were always a part of his life. He was an outstanding stockman and was voted outstanding farmer in 1972. Bobbie loved the land. His attitude for grazing, was “take half, leave half”. He loved to run the combine. Up until 2002 it was his favorite thing to do. Then he really found his passion when he started raising/selling bulls. He would spend hours down in the corral talking to them, earning their trust, scratching them then eventually getting the curry comb out & cleaning them up. He was so proud when someone would comment on how gentle the bulls were & ask him if he wanted a job. He would get really down in the early summer when all had been sold, until we’d start deciding which calves were going to make the bull pen that fall. He spent many hours fencing. He believed that good fences made for good neighbors.
Bobbie’s other true love was his family. He was very proud of his family, but believed in letting them live their own lives. He was always there if they needed him. He is survived by his soulmate & love of his life, his wife, Debbie & his 4 children from a previous marriage. Terry Weyer, Cheryl (George) Zorzakis, Tim (Kim) Weyer & Tracy Weyer, Several Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren, 3 sisters, Lillian Quale, Jean (Roger) Jacobsen, Inez (Don) Parker, several sister/brother in laws, numerous nieces/nephews & his mother-in-law. He taught his children & grandchildren his hard work ethic. His answer to everything was just work a little harder. He was preceded in death by his parents & all of his brothers.
Bobbie enjoyed hunting as a young man & taught his children how to hunt. After that, he let the boys do the hunting as he said “You can only eat so much deer meat”. Bobbie loved to laugh. He was well known for his laugh & his smile. He had a very tender heart & would do anything for anyone, even if it meant his own work would suffer.
Celebration of his life will be held Sunday, January 12th at 1 pm in the Wibaux County Fair Exhibit Hall. We will ask, for stories involving him or about him be shared at the service. A meal will be served after the service. Spreading of his ashes on Blue Mountain will take place next spring. Memorials can be made to the Wibaux County Nursing Home Boiler Fund, Friendship Villa Memorial Residents fund, the Wibaux County 4H/FFA Scholarship Fund or the American Salers Association Foundation. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.

I remember staying with Uncle Bobbie and Aunt Harriet for about 2 weeks. Terry tried to teach me how to milk a cow…never could do it lol. Then we had to butcher chickens! I was one of the “city kids”. Terry cut the head if of one and I almost threw up. Then Aunt Harriet told me my job was to pluck the pin feathers. By the time we were done I was so sick I went up to the bedroom. Guess what she cooked for dinner…yup “chicken”! I told them I didn’t feel good and they all lagged at me especially Uncle Bobbie. I never lived it down…lol. Love you guys very much…I am so sorry for your loss. I remember how I felt when my dad passed away too. Remember your Angels are with all of you at this very difficult time in your lives.

I offer my deepest sympathy and sincere condolence. May the fond memories that you share bring comfort to your hearts. Let the promises made by God soothe you as you gain the strenght and inner peace to cope with the days ahead. God promises that those in the memorieal tombs will be resurrected (John 5:28,29) and death will be no more (Revelation 21:4) we will live forever here on a paradise restore earth forever (Psalm 37:9-11, 29)
Cindy Stanton says
Debbie I am so sorry for your loss. May peace be with you during this most difficult time.
J Johnson says
My sincere condolences to the family of Bobbie Joseph Weyer – May you find comfort in your loving memories, great pictures and in recalling the many talents of Mr. Weyer. It was not God’s purpose that mankind suffer and die and God has promised that a time will come when no one will say “I am sick” (Isaiah 33:24). The Bible promises a resurrection of dear family members and friends that we have lost (John 5:28, 29). The Paradise that was originally promised for the earth in the Garden of Eden will be fulfilled and cause God’s “will to be done as in Heaven also upon Earth” (Matthew 6:9, 10). I hope you are comforted by Bible promises of a hopeful future (John 17:3).
