In high school, she played tuba in the high school band and would march down to the depot in Gillette to greet the passenger trains of soldiers being moved during World War II. Some of Bonnies happiest times were with her children when she and family went to Red Lodge for Fiddle Jamborees and visiting and picking chokecherries along the ditches to make jelly & jam.
