It is with sadness that we bid farewell to our mother, grandmother, sister and friend Bonnie Fay Yellowfox.
Our mother was born on April 6, 1956, to her parents Earl Sample and Grace Marie Yellowfox at Crow Agency, MT.
Bonnie was baptized into the Catholic faith on 12-16-56. Her Godparents were Melvin Woodenthigh and Elsie Standing Elk. Although she was tested over and over, her faith in Maheo was strong and unshakable.
Our mother was raised on the Northern Cheyenne reservation. After losing her parents, she was raised by Becky Tallwhiteman and her cook Lena Gray. Other children arrived and was soon known as St. Labre Home. She attended St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, MT.
In 1979, Bonnie packed her bags and moved to Minneapolis MN. She made her home there until her passing.
Bonnie was a stay-at-home mother. Having 15 grandchildren and she enjoyed having them come over and spend time with her. Her favorite pastime was beading, making dreamcatchers, and relaxing watching TV.
After fighting a courageous battle of cancer, she took the hand of Maheo and peacefully left this world for a better place in heaven in the wee hours of August 19, 2022.
Survivors include her children: Grace and Shaun YellowFox of Minneapolis, Felicia and Daniel YellowFox-Hall of Michigan, Alicia YellowFox-Hall of Louisiana.
Bonus children include Jack and Roderik Crittenden, Pearl and Barnell Worthy of Minneapolis MN.
Sisters include Rose McKeithen of Nashville, TN., Bearwoman of Seattle, WA., Debbie Littlebird of Wichita, KS. and Sandra Sandcrane of Lame Deer, MT.
Preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, sisters Jena Orwin and Clifena YellowFox and her brother Valdo YellowFox.
Bonnie’s children are not familiar with her relatives… We apologize if you are not listed at this time.

Judy Tallwhiteman Harris says
Rest In Peace, Bonnie. You were a big sister, playmate and friend while we were growing up. Grandma Becky and Grandpa Jasper loved and raised many Cheyenne children as well as their own grandchildren. I often wondered where you were and how you were doing. Travel well. Deepest condolences to your children and grandchildren.
