Brandi Gail Boggs, age 45, passed away in her sleep at home on Tuesday November 19th, 2024, due to renal failure.
Brandi was born to Jeff and Bonnie Sangsland Boggs on January 18th, 1979, in Great Falls, MT.
Brandi came into this world with many health problems but proved to be a strong fighter from the start. Her first surgery was when she was 2 weeks old, with many to follow throughout her life. She was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 12 and battled the disease for 33 years, with the last 4 years being on dialysis for kidney failure. She earned a medal from the Lilly Diabetes Journey Awards program noting her living with Type 1 Diabetes on her 25th anniversary of diagnosis, which she was very proud of. Brandi was also a survivor of both colorectal and uterine cancers. Brandi’s stubbornness and determination were just what God knew she needed to get though her hardships in life.
Brandi grew up in Fort Benton, MT and went to Fort Benton Public Schools through the 9th grade. The family then moved to Miles City, MT where she graduated from Custer County High School in 1998. After graduation Brandi worked numerous jobs, including in daycare, as a CNA, and a live-in nanny.
Some of Brandi’s loves included collecting rocks, collecting gnomes, and anything involving the University of Montana Grizzlies (their mascot, Monte, being her favorite.) She loved taking trips- especially her 2 trips to Alaska, a learning trip through Utah and Arizona with her mom, and going to the cabin at Ft. Smith, MT. She had recently gone to Hettinger, ND with her mom to find the Sangsland lineage buried there, Phillipsburg, MT to dig for sapphires, and her final trip this past June was to Yellowstone. Brandi loved sunflowers, and most of her house was decorated in them. They always made her happy. She also loved to have a treat of a Mountain Morning Latte at City Brew. Above all she loved her dog, Griz, and her nieces and nephew the most. Griz was very much a service animal for Brandi and would always make her feel better just by being with her. They loved their afternoon naps together. Brandi was very proud of her nieces and nephew and loved to tease and joke around with them.
Brandi was a good cook and especially loved to bake. She would bake countless Christmas treats with her mom every year, treating loved ones with sugar cookies, peanut blossoms, and pizzelles. Brandi would throw together her own recipes and was always finding new ones she would want to try. She was also everyone’s secretary- whether it was being the music DJ in the car, the Dymo printing associate or helping everyone keep track of their stuff.
Brandi is survived by her parents and caregivers Jeff and Bonnie Boggs, her sister Melanie (Scott) Martens, brother Landon (Michele) Boggs, nieces Aeriel and Morgan Martens & Hayley and Claire Boggs, nephew Logan Martens, her favorite pup Griz, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Should friends or family choose, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Miles City Dialysis Clinic Inc. in memory of Brandi would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the wonderful people at the Dialysis Clinic for the care they gave Brandi, and all the doctors and nurses who have touched Brandi’s life along the way.
Funeral and burial plans will be announced at a later date.
