Thinking of you and thinking back to the Ashland days and how supportive your mom always was of education. She was also so supportive of her children 🙂 We know you will miss her greatly and we hope wonderful memories will help you through.

Brenda was a beautiful lady with a beautiful laugh; she was so good to me. I worked with her and Frances at the power plant in Colstrip. My condolences to Brenda’s siblings. She is whole again and dancing…as she did so beautifully.

My heart goes out to Joe, Anita, Gina, Eugene, Little Joe and the grieving members of their and the Bearchum family. Brenda was a wonderful and loving person who gave her heart and life to bless each of you as well as myself when I was at Ashland. Special memories remain in my heart for the times when she brought in water and prayed for all of us at peyote meetings, supported Joe as Keeper of the Sacred Hat, and participated in many traditional ceremonies, as well as kept a home in which she provided so much loving warmth and care for both family and friends. May Maheo grant her the happiness she so richly deserves for spending herself in the service of her family and His people. And may the precious memories she has left each of you be a source of comfort now and in the future.

Brenda was a remarkable woman – a person of quiet dignity, generous, caring and wise. Immensely strong, she faced numerous adversities without losing heart.
When Belva and I arrived in Lame Deer in 1977, she was among the first to invite us into her family life and social gatherings. More than any other single person, she helped us adapt to our new surroundings and come to feel like members of the community, not just the latest government-sponsored outsiders.
We were truly saddened to learn of Brenda’s passing. Our condolences to her family, along with our hopes that they can continue along the shining path that Brenda established.

Brenda was one of my first role models. She was beautiful, generous, and gracious. I have not seen her in many years, but I have often thought of her with warmth and affection. God is holding her in the palm of his hand.
