Bruce Kevin Erlenbusch, aged 61, passed away at his residence in Forsyth, MT, on the morning of July 3rd, 2023, due to gastrointestinal issues.
Born on June 23rd, 1962, in Alamogordo, NM, Bruce was the first child of Homer William Payne, Jr., and Mary Emma Lou Martin. Following the untimely passing of their father, Bruce and his younger brother Terry were adopted by Harold Daniel Erlenbusch. Bruce was later blessed with three younger brothers.
Growing up in Cohagen, MT, Bruce attended high school in Miles City, MT. In his early years, he discovered a passion for playing the guitar, fishing, and delving into new technologies. His natural talent for deciphering and mending mechanical and electrical devices set him apart.
Bruce pursued his higher education in electrical engineering, coinciding with his marriage to Tamara Rogers. They shared two decades of matrimony, during which they welcomed three sons into the world. Bruce’s career as a telecommunications engineer led him and his family on a journey across various regions of Washington state.
In the later stages of his life, Bruce relished the joys of hunting, traveling, and savoring quality time with his loved ones. Bruce never encountered a stranger he couldn’t engage in conversation with. Possessing a remarkable sense of humor, Bruce will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, radiant smile, and his unwavering empathy towards others.
Bruce was preceded in death by his eldest son, Jesse Daniel Erlenbusch, as well as his parents. He is survived by his brothers Terry, Steve, Pat, and Harold Jr. Additionally, he leaves behind his sons Jeremy (Misty) Erlenbusch of Miles City and Jack (Hannah) Erlenbusch of Riverview, FL. Bruce’s legacy extends to his cherished grandchildren: Raith, Khaia, Castiel, and Ella Erlenbusch.
As we mourn the loss of Bruce, let us cherish the memories we have of him and celebrate the impact he had on our lives. His spirit will live on through the love and laughter he shared with his family and friends. May Bruce find eternal peace, and may his loved ones find solace in the enduring moments they shared with him.

Terence Erlenbusch says
Bruce is my older brother, I am going to miss him so very much. He always had a ear to listen to me no matter what time and advice that was usually spot on to offer up.
He loved his sons so very much and was so proud of each of them.
If I had a chance to go back in time I would spend most of my time I’ve wasted thus far with him and be a better and more intelligent man because of it.
Bruce Kevin Payne I’ll see you one day somewhere on the other side.
I love you always.
Terence

If you needed tech help—and boy did we need it a lot—or if you needed a ready smile, call on Bruce! Helpful at every turn defined Bruce. What was most heartening was the fact that Bruce had accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. I had the pleasure of his company in church and his hug gave me all I needed to brighten my day! We will miss Bruce for a little while until we hug again in Heaven! Heartfelt condolences to Bruce’s family!

Bruce was there when I was born and ever since he’s been like a Grandpa to me. He always had a smile on his face and thought of fun and silly things to do! He even taught me how to say, “Bruce is the man”, by bribing me with dibs. I have lots of great memories to hold dear to my heart. I love and miss you Bruce. I’ll see you again someday and we can dance in the sky! My prayers go out to Bruce’s family.

Bruce, my brother-in-law, we’d only met a handful of times. You know, living in different states and all. But you and your boys mean so very much to me.
So sad to know that you are physically gone. But feel your soul has moved onward.
You were a brightness in some people’s worlds. That light will never dim.
Take care Brother. I love you.
Until we meet again.

Bruce was the greatest ever. Cousin by marriage his mother to my uncle. Heart that cared deaply for others, never himself. I went through a horrible divorce and Bruce was so concerned how I was going to work and survive. Well Bruce you lifted me up in the worst of times and will always remember your caring which carried me onward. Rip p.s. to young

Bruce was my oldest brother. I have many fond memories of him. Back in Glendale for birthday parties, him bringing us to see the paddlefish run, to getting pizza in his Dodge magnum. Also in Cheney Washington putting coins on the railroad, and going to the rodeo. I am glad we got to talk to each other the past few years since he was back in Montana., and stopping in Forsyth to see him when I could. Wish we could have done more together, but we will be together again someday. I will miss him greatly , he was a great man and a great father.
