Arden Burnell Larson, age 75, of Jordan, MT passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at his home in Jordan.

Burnell was born on February 15, 1930 in Walhalla, ND to Alfred and Belma Larson. He lived in Walhalla until 1937 when his family moved to Polson, MT. Burnell attended school in Polson and joined the Army in his senior year. He was stationed in Korea while serving his country. He earned the rank of corporal and was honorably discharged in 1953. Following his discharge he attended Western Montana College in Dillon, MT where he obtained a teaching certificate. While attending college at Dillon he married Carol Marie Brubaker in Polson, MT.

Upon receiving his teaching certificate, he and his new bride moved to Jordan, MT in 1957 and Burnell taught school at Spring Creek School in the Brusett area. Burnell worked locally for area ranches and moved his family to Polson, MT for a couple of years where he worked in the saw mill. Then in 1965, he moved to Simms, MT where he worked on the Hamilton Ranch. In 1967, he moved his family to Big Sandy, MT where work at the IX Ranch. Following that he moved back to Jordan and worked locally.

In the 1978, Burnell was employed by the Department of Revenue for the State of Montana, in McCone County (Circle, MT) where he worked until his retirement. The family than moved back to Jordan where he remained until the time of his death.

Burnell was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Larson and mother Belma (Olson) Larson, his bellowed wife Carol and three children; David, Gwen and Jill.

He is survived by three children, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild; Carrie (David) McNutt and their children Erin and Ben of Phoenix, AZ, Chlo Winters of Phoenix, AZ and her children Daniel Lott of Jacksonville, FL and Melissa Lott of Winfield, AL and son Todd (Carol) Larson and their sons Tim and Ryan (Shelly) Smith and their daughter Carly of Miles City, MT. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a lot of friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 25, 2005 at 11:00 at the VFW Hall in Jordan, MT. Interment will follow in the Pioneer Cemetery in Jordan, MT with full Military Rites.
