Calvin Gene Weaver, age 84, of Jordan, Montana, passed away on November 30, 2024, at the Garfield County Health Center in Jordan. He was born on September 26, 1940, in Jordan to Victor and Marguerite Weaver. Calvin, along with his brother Roger, was raised on the family farm in Brusett, where he developed a deep love for country living and farming.
Calvin attended Blackfoot School through the 8th grade, where his class consisted of only six students. He then moved to town to live in the dormitory while attending Jordan High School. On weekends, if he wasn’t at home, Calvin would visit his grandparents or spend time with his Aunt Wilma and Uncle Herschel Riley, playing with his cousins, Kay and Lyn.
After graduating from Jordan High School, Calvin moved to Havre to attend college. He earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial arts, which marked the beginning of his teaching career. Calvin moved to California, where he met Edith, the love of his life. They were married on August 27, 1966, in Havre, Montana, and together had two children: a son, Michael, and a daughter, Charlynn.
The family settled in Porterville, California, where Calvin began a 30-year career as a high school teacher at Monache High School. During his years of teaching, Calvin and Edith also bought a 30-acre orchard farm, growing walnuts, prunes, and almonds. Calvin would spend his days teaching and his evenings tending to the farm—a labor of love. In the summer, he would return to Montana to help harvest wheat on the family farm in Brusett. This dual farming life between California and Montana continued until 1990, when Calvin and Edith sold their farm in California and moved to Roundup, Montana, where they bought a new farm and continued farming until Calvin’s health no longer allowed.
In his later years, Calvin was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. He was able to remain at home with the loving care of his wife, Edith, for as long as possible. Eventually, he moved to the Garfield County Nursing Home, where he received exceptional care for the last year and a half of his life.
Calvin is survived by his wife of 58 years, Edith; son Michael (Kathy) Weaver; daughter Charlynn Davidson; grandchildren Sean and Justin Mendoza, and Emily and Eleanor Weaver; and great grandchildren Kira and Marley Mendoza. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Marguerite Weaver, and his brother Roger Weaver.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the VFW Hall in Jordan. Interment will follow at Pioneer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Calvin’s name to the Weaver Family Memorial Fund, which will be used to support the Garfield County Health Center. Payable to Weaver Family Memorial Fund. Mail to Garfield County Bank, P.O. Box 6, Jordan, MT 59337.

Rest in Peace dear cousin. I have too many memories to list all of our times together when we were young and the laughter and banter we shared whether playing Chinese Checkers at Marg and Vic’s place or playing poker for matchsticks with Grandpa Mury in town. I love you dearly and will miss seeing your mischievious smile when we shared a funny story. See you later.

Our sympathies go out to Calvin ‘s family. We look back on many fond memories of our shared time supporting the mighty Monache Band in Porterville, California. Calvin and Edie were always willing to go above and beyond in their efforts, and we always cherished their friendship.

Mr. Weaver…. we only meet you and Edith a couple of times. My husband always enjoyed talking cowboy to cowboy. Your son Michael has been a dear dear friend for many many years.. we then were lucky enough to get Kathy, Emily and Elli as a bonus. We’ve loved your family for years and always kept track of you and Edith thru Michael. You were a very blessed man. We know you are dancing freely on the clouds in Heaven and you are getting your place ready for when God calls your family home.
God’s blessings to you Michael, your mom and your entire family. Our hearts goes out to you all at this time. We love you all so much. It’s just never easy saying Good bye for now, but knowing he’s at peace and free of that disease must help somewhat. Much love and hugs….. 💝💐😘🙏

Our thoughts and prayers to the Weaver family in your time of loss. Tina and I have many fond memories of having Calvin and Edie at matside supporting Mike’s wrestling competitions. Our motorcycle trip from California to your ranch in Roundup. The warm hospitality when we arrived made the trip all worthwhile! We have too many memories to list, but my memories of the many years that we taught together at Monache will always be cherished
