Cari Lea Siegert was born on March 20, 1980 the daughter of Dale and Cheri (Datisman) Siegert in Platteville, Wisconsin. She moved to Gillette, Wyoming as a toddler and attended Cone'stoga Elementary, Sage Valley Jr. High and graduated from Campbell County High school in 1998. One of her fondest memories during high school was working summers as a receptionist for L&H Welding. She liked her job and the people she worked with. Upon her graduation she earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification and began working as a C.N.A. Caris choice of occupation was very much a reflection of her caring personality. She enjoyed caring for all of her clients including those from Renew, Sol Domus, Western Nursing and Pioneer Manor. While employed as a C.N.A. she attended the Gillette Campus and the Sheridan Campus knowing that she wanted to earn a degree in the Health Care field. She was nearing her degree in Massage Therapy when her cancer reoccurred.
Cari started playing drums at the age six. This became one of her favorite pastimes and she grew into a very accomplished drummer.
Her taste in music was quite eclectic, she enjoyed old songs from the 70s and 80s as well as current songs in the country and rock genres. Cari had said that her music was a great comfort to her during her illness. She liked football and was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers. She also enjoyed the special times she spent fishing with her dad. She was so giving of her time to her friends and family when they were in need. Cari considered her mother to be her best friend. This close relationship will be sorely missed by her mother, Cheri.
Cari is survived by her parents, Dale and Cheri Siegert of Gillette, Wyoming; maternal grandfather, Sydney, Datisman of Durango, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Ruth Siegert of Dubuque, Iowa; her brother, Mike, sister-in-law, Jamie Siegert, their two week old daughter, Sophia Carilea, and her brother Toby Siegert all of Mesa, Arizona; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
