Funeral Service for Carl McGee will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 26, 2004 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Marty Crump of the Family Life Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 25, 2004 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and again on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
Carl McGee, age 82, a Campbell County native and long time resident passed away July 21, 2004 at Rapides Regional Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Carl was born July 15, 1922, on his parents homestead, 19 miles north of Gillette, Wyoming. Carl was raised and educated on the homestead, attending the Calf Creek School. On July 27, 1942, Carl married Beth (Pacot). The couple lived on the McGee homestead, where they spent their lives farming and ranching. The couple divorced in 1961, and Carl continued to live on the McGee homestead.
Carl has resided in Louisiana since the death of his wife, Ola Birdsong McGee in 2000. Carl always looked forward to the fall hunting seasons.
Carl is survived by his first wife, Beth McGee of Gillette, Wyoming; two sons: Allen and his wife Carol of Youngsville, Louisiana; Keith and his wife Maryann of San Dimas, California; five grandchildren: Craig McGee of St. Amant, Louisiana; Clinton McGee of Lafayette, Louisiana; Crystal McCoy of Ft. Benning, Georgia; James McGee of Chicago, Illinois; and Stephanie Johnson of Gillette, Wyoming; four great-grandsons; one sister, Wilma Carter of Gillette, Wyoming and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents: Grover and Grace McGee; one brother, Aaron McGee; and sisters: Minnie Mobley and Helen Harlow.
