Carla Louise Fisher, Mo’eha’e (Elk Woman) was born on October 8, 1967, in Crow Agency to Cynthia Fisher. She grew up in Birney, Montana. Carla attended Birney Day School in her early years. She later moved to Lame Deer with her mother and attended St. Labre Indian School where she graduated on May 21, 1985.
Carla had a genuine and unique personality. She was the family care bear that made everyone feel loved. She always remained humbled and be friended many. Carla enjoyed attending community events and spending time with family and friends. She loved attending pow-wows, watching basketball games, and the community walks. Carla completed her Early Childhood Education Degree. She then dedicated 32 years of her life to the Northern Cheyenne Head Start Program. She taught two different generations in three decades and cherished every moment. It made her proud to see her students grow and then teach their children. She also enjoyed working the Summer Development Camps. Dedicated to her career in education Carla earned her CDL and stepped in as bus driver when needed. Along with her love for the Head Start Program she enjoyed serving her community and they loved her.
Religion was very important to Carla. She was a member of the Catholic Church and enjoyed attending Sunday and Holiday services. She believed in the power of prayer and often read bible verses. She spread her faith by sharing angels and prayers on her Facebook. Carla was baptized by Deacon Joe on Easter Saturday, March 22, 2008, with her sponsor being June Spang.
Carla was always supportive of the local school in all the sporting events, attending games of all her nieces and nephews cheering loud and making posters. She was also a full blown, Montana Griz fan. Always wearing Griz shirts, Griz sweaters and carrying Griz water bottles.
Carla enjoyed coffee in the morning with her pastries and toast. She always had snacks and carried bubblegum and in her little backpack. She enjoyed shopping and going to garage sales. Carla loved collecting teddy bears, angels, crosses, and native pottery. She was proud of her home and loved decorating it with family
pictures. Her walls were filled with loved ones and memories of ones that have passed on. She had a big heart and loved everyone whole heartedly. Even through all the sickness and health issues she had she would still have a smile on her face. She felt very blessed to have a large family and many friends. She loved supporting them by hearting their post, commenting, and praying for them when asked.
She was very close to the ones she considered her other moms. She enjoyed visiting people at their houses, spending time with family and going to birthdays and dinners.
Carla loved all her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren as her own. She was always there to support them and care for them with no questions asked. She raised Coolidge, Carl, and Floyd as her sons.
Carla lived a life full of love as she always made the best of it. She was loved by many who cherished every moment with her. Carla will forever be missed.
Carla is reunited with her Mother Cynthia who she has missed for the last 40 years.
Carla is still being of service to others by giving the gift of sight. She has the potential to restore to sight for two people.

Its been 2 years since you’ve passed grandma. I’m trying so hard not to cry as I write this, I still cant believe you’re actually gone. I will forever cherish the moments we’ve spent together in my memories, whenever I miss you, I play “oh my angel” by Bertha tillman. The song reminds me of you, so much. I wish you were here right now, so I could talk with you or at least go on a walk with you one last time. I miss you so much, Its been so hard without you. I cried my eyes out, 2 nights ago after thinking of you. It pains me to know I’ll have to wait until death so I can finally re-unite with you. You weren’t just a grandma to me, You were my second mom. the one I never really had, But you made sure I atleast got to experience one. You were my best friend, and my partner. I will never forget the day, we had to bury you. I tried so hard not to start crying. I stood by you’re burial place, hoping you would rise out of the coffin and say its a joke. it pains me so much, to know I lost my second mom, my friend and my grandma. I’ll always cherish the moments of when you took us to the park. I’ll always cherish when we went on cruises together, and finally. I’ll always cherish your hugs and smile. They brought so much warmth to me. It pains to know I will never hear that sweet voice, anymore. I tried so hard to not forget it, but I guess I needed to try harder. Atleast I still know what you look like, so that is going to be engraved in my memories forever and ever. I’ll never forget how your smile brought everyone joy. I love you so much. 🕊
