Carmen Jordan, age 60 of Broadus, formerly of Miles City, Montana passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City after a short battle with cancer.
Carmen was born in Winner, SD the daughter of John and Robin (Engel) Sanders. She was raised in Winner, SD where she attended schools and graduated high school. Carmen married Larry Kewley and to this union, two girls; Tammey and Charlotte and two boys; Tory and Tony were born and they lived in Sioux Falls, SD. Carmen later moved to Baker with her children, and found work in Glendive. Carmen met Steve Jordan in 1981 in Baker and they moved to Miles City in the late 80s where she worked for Barneys and the 600 caf for a short while. They moved to Broadus, in 1999 where she worked in the Powder River Manor in the kitchen and they have remained in Broadus ever since. Carmen loved to play pool, play board games, sit out in the hot sun soaking up the rays, and embroidering. She enjoyed going to church and being with her church family. She attended the Wesleyan Church in Miles City and the Assembly of God Church in Broadus. Carmen loved to have fun and never met a stranger.
Carmen is survived by her husband, Steve Jordan of Broadus, MT, children; Tory Kewley of Minneapolis, MN, Tony Kewley of Sioux Falls, SD, Tammey (Tom) Anderson of Sioux Falls, SD and Charlotte (Kevin) Egeland of Baker, MT, step-daughter; Stephanie (Mike) Neidhamer of Sioux Falls, SD, brother, Bob (Wanda) Sanders of Oregon and sister Nancy (Bob) Knutsen of Oregon, brother-in-law, Dave Jordan of Billings, MT, mother-in-law Erna Jordan of Miles City, sisters-in-law, Linda Hurley of Baker, MT and Vicki Clear of Miles City, MT. She was also survived by six grandchildren;Cotey Kewley, Spencer Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Tammy Anderson, Tomeka Anderson, and Taleah Anderson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Avis, and her father-in-law, Vern Jordan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 18, 2008 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City with family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 11:00 am at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
