Carol Ruth Grant, age 55, of Terry MT, lost her battle with cancer on May 12, 2017 at Prairie Community Hospital. Carol was surrounded by loved one’s to the very end.
Carol was born at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City, MT on January 12, 1962 to Vern and Mary Larimore. Carol was the youngest of three children joining brothers Joe and LaVerne.
Carol spend her formative years in Terry MT and was a graduate of Terry High School in 1980. After high school Carol attended college in North Dakota and eventually got her degree at Tacoma Community College, a degree in Criminal Justice, Carol worked with at risk youth in the Seattle area. Carol had a passion for service to others. In 2007 Carol and her family, husband Terry and daughter Kelsey Grant moved back to Terry MT where Carol worked as a bartender at the American Legion in Terry until her passing.
When Carol was diagnosed with cancer, her main concern was not being able to see her daughter Kelsey graduate High School, but the wonderful community of Terry and Prairie Community Hospital made her wish come true. They did the graduation at the hospital which helped Carol leave this life in comfort to see her lovely daughter graduate High School as a valedictorian. Kelsey plans on continuing her mothers legacy of service to others as she pursues her degree in medicine this Fall at MSUB.
Carol is survived by: Terry Grant, Rory Thorp and Kelsey, and two brothers LaVerne and Joseph Larimore and their wives Valerie Larimore and Corine Larimore, daughter-in-law Tracy Thorp and grandchildren Cameron Thorp and McKenzie Thorp and her mother Mary Larimore and her aunt Shirley Bennet and aunt and uncle Gary and Margo Acton.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Interment will follow in the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Terry is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
