Catherine Giacometto

Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Davids Catholic Church in Broadus

Rite of Committal: will follow in the family lot in the Valley View Cemetery in Broadus

Catherine Giacometto, age 83, of Belle Creek passed away on Monday, March 13, 2006 at the family ranch near Broadus.

Catherine was born at Boyes, Montana at the family homestead on June 9, 1922, the daughter of Louis C. and Anna T. (Caretto) Trucano. She attended Boyes Country School, Ashland High School and graduated from Powder River High School in 1939. She remained on the family ranch until she turned 18, then she married John Giacometto on July 15, 1940 at St Davids Catholic Church. Following their marriage, they ranched in the Belle Creek area their entire life, living in a sheep wagon their first years. After retiring, they spent their winters in Del Rio, Texas and their summers back home in Belle Creek. John passed away on October 9, 2003 and Catherine has remained at the ranch ever since.

Catherine is survived by three sons: Louis Giacometto and his wife Mae of Belle Creek, MT; Lawrence Giacometto and his special friend Betty of Boyes, MT; Robert Giacometto and his wife Mary Jane of Rapid City, SD; a sister, Anita Wetherelt and her husband Wayne of Broadus, MT; nine grandchildren: Tom and his wife Donna, Roxanna and her husband David, Tammy and her husband Todd, Amber, John and his wife Rene, Jennifer and her husband Randall, James, Ellen and her husband Glenn, and Frances and her husband Jim, eighteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, two brothers: Jack and Charles, and a grandson, Ron Giacometto.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 17, 2006 at St. Davids Catholic Church in Broadus. A Vigil service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Davids Catholic Church in Broadus. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Davids Catholic Church in Broadus. Rite of Committal will follow in the family lot in the Valley View Cemetery in Broadus. A luncheon will follow the burial at the Community Center.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the local charity of one's choice.
