Catherine Ann Wagoner, age 47 of Polson, Montana, passed away on Sunday, July 6th, 2008 south of Miles City as a result of an automobile accident.
Catherine was born on March 27th, 1961 in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew and Ann Jepsen. She spent much of her childhood living in many different cities while her father, who worked for the Ben Franklin store chain, would move from city to city setting up new storefronts. Her family finally settled near Little Rock Arkansas, where she finished out her high school years. After high school she spent many years living in De Queen and Arkadelphia Arkansas. It was during this time that she went to college in Arkadelphia for 4 years.
At age 32, Catherine married Sam Wilson and gave birth to her eldest son Andrew. After the birth of her second son Shelby, Catherine and Sam divorced. During the next several years, Catherine worked hard to not only support her children, but many of the children in her neighborhood. She gained a passion for taking care of, and often times adopting, those in need.
In 1998 Catherine & Mark Wagoner were wed in Springfield, Missouri, just before the birth of their youngest son Christopher. With the addition of Marks children, Mark Jr., Michael and Amber Wagoner, the family doubled in size. The final addition to the family, David Benjamin Dennis, was adopted soon after, and continues to be an integral part of the family.
Catherine loved going on camping trips with her family. It was on one such trip into the Flathead Valley, in northwestern Montana, that the family discovered Polson, with all its grandeur, trees, lakes, wildlife, sunrises and sunsets that they decided to make it their home. In order to fulfill Catherines new found hope to one day buy a piece of land on the mountains overlooking Flathead Lake, and subsequently building a new home for the family, she once again stepped up and took care of the family while Mark setup and operated the family owned business, Wagoner Roofing, throughout all of Montana. With the success of the business statewide, Catherine had decided to continue her education in the upcoming fall in order to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a librarian.
Catherine lived by this philosophy Never change who you are inside just so others will accept you. Be true to yourself
Catherine is survived by her husband Mark of Polson and Glasgow, MT and her children; Mark Jr. of Miles City, MT, Michael of Polson, MT, Benjamin of Glasgow, MT, Amber of Polson, MT, Andrew of Polson, MT, Shelby of Polson, MT, Christopher of Polson, MT, Tabbatha of Polson, MT.
