Cathleen Ann Zimmermann, age 77, of Miles City passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Holy Rosary Residential Living in Miles City.
Cathy was born March 2, 1944 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Joseph S. and Leslye R. Lawlor. She attended Holy Name Elementary School until the summer of 1951 when the family moved to Miles City for a job change by Mr. Lawlor. She attended Sacred Heart grade school and high school. Cathy graduated as Valedictorian of her class in 1962 and attended Carroll college in Helena, Montana for one year. She then transferred to Valley City State College in Valley City, North Dakota where she earned her teaching degree. While in Valley City, she was married to G. Dean Zimmermann. She was divorced five years later and never remarried. Cathy decided she really didn’t like teaching that much and moved to Dallas, Texas and went to work for Continental Trailways. She planned trips for many famous people and groups such as the Dallas Cowboys. Cathy eventually moved back to Miles City to help care for her aging parents. Cathy worked for Doctor Tom Peterson and Eastern Montana Mental Health. She also worked for Holy Rosary Hospital in different positions for several years.
Cathy was proceeded in death by her parents Joseph and Leslye Lawlor, her nephew Kevin White and her brother-in-law Robert C. White. She is survived by her sisters Mary Jo White (Jim Edgeworth) of Saltillo, MS and Teresa (Jim) Kale of Miles City, Montana; seven nephews, six great nieces and two great nephews.

Theresa, Mary Jo and famlies, my sympathy on the loss of your beloved sister. Growing up I met Cathy and then later worked with her at Garberson and HRH. I admired her greatly. Fly high sweet lady you are now at peace.

Bernadette Miller says
Cathy started my job at HRH many years ago – when the hospital first opened we had staff sitting at the front desk and we would direct patients to rooms or wherever they needed to go. Cathy had other activities on Wednesday, so I worked Wednesday evening and every other weekend, and to think that led me into a 23 year job at HRH. I always enjoyed visiting with her – we both enjoyed canning and we often shared recipes for apple butter or other fun items to make. Cathy is now at peace and I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Jana Wilson says
Cathy was our neighbor for a time when we lived in Miles City. We moved but I have thought of her often over the years. My condolences to her family.

Caroline Parent Ford says
I went to school with Cathy and she was a member of “the thundering herd”. Our herd was always doing some sort of mischief. I remember all of us going to the Montana Theater with boxes of talcum powder which we dusted onto the shoulders of the people in front of us. Cathy was the smartest (I thought) of us and she could make up wonderful stories. She was a natural born story teller and should have been a writer.
I’m sorry you’ve lost Cathy. But well done, Cathy.
