CauleenBloxom was granted her final wish on July 28 2006, which was to go home to live with God and loved one's who had gone before.
Cauleen loved the Lord and was a member of the Church of Christ for many years. Cauleen was born in Brazil, Indiana, October 25, 1913, the third child of Elmer andClytie Knoy. She was born with a short left leg and the doctor said she would never walk. Cauleen must not have been listening because she walked at eleven months and continued to amaze people with her accomplishments and INDEPENDENCE for the rest of her life. Her family moved from Indiana to Wyoming to homestead near Gillette when she was about twelve. Schooling was always a hardship in rural Wyoming. Cauleen rode a horse to the bus, tied him and rode the bus to school, only to reverse the process that evening. She was fortunate to find room and board in Gillette for high school in exchange for doing ironing and caring for others. On July 16, 1934, she married George Bloxom in Broadus, Montana and he whisked her off to their first home, a tent with a wooden floor. And so began her years of housekeeping, caring for children, and cooking and ironing for her family and many others. Her cinnamon rolls and oatmeal bread were great! Over the years, Cauleen lived in several areas around Gillette, Buffalo and Rock Springs in Wyoming and Butte, Prairie Elk, and Miles City in Montana. When her health began to fail she moved from Gillette to Eagles Manor in Miles City and eventually to Friendship Villa, where she resided at the time of her death.
Cauleen never drove a car until she was in her fifties, which was a liberating experience. Her family thought she would drive to the grocery store and church, but she had bigger ideas; she drove from state to state! Which is how she earned her nickname, Grandma GO GO. Over the years, she went from walking with crutches, to losing her eyesight, to needing a wheelchair. Her courage and great sense of humor were noted wherever she went, not to mention her independence!
Cauleen is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Bud and JerryKnoy, her sisters, Elma Davis and Ruth Board, her husband George, their young daughter Shirley, her son in law John Crandall, a grandson Keith Clauson and a great grandson, Jesse Elzey. Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Crandall of Green River, Wyoming and Linda King and Betty Clauson and her husband Nick, of Miles City.
Her surviving siblings include Harry Knoy and Thora Keene of the Detroit Michigan area and a sister Edith Thompson of Hailey, Idaho. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
