Charles Dyba, age 79, of Miles City passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City.
Charlie was born in Miles City, Montana on March 24, 1928, the son of Anton and Palmera (Parenti) Dyba. He attended schools at Cohagen and at the age of 21, he moved to Miles City where he worked for the Milwaukee Railroad, Ten Spot Service Station, Oftedal Construction, and the Tonn Ranch. Charlie will always be remembered for picking up cans, riding his three wheeler throughout the Miles City Community and for his kind heart. Charlie has been a resident of the rest home for the past 19 years and everyone there grew to be extended family to him.
Charlie is survived by two sisters: Norma (Robert) Tom of Miles City, MT; Pauline Flotkoetter of Miles City, MT; four nephews; Robert and RickFlotkoetter both of Miles City, MT, Jim Flotkoetter of Laurel, MT and Steve Tom of San Marcos, CA, a niece Laurie Tom of Miles City, MT, great nieces; Tara Syring of Miles City, MT, Amanda Flotkoetter of Norfolk, VA, Megan Haven of Los Vegas, NV, Kailie Flotkoetter of Laurel, MT, Andrea, Nicole, and Caitlin Flotkoetter all of Miles City, MT; Paige Flotkoetter of Billings, MT and Rhiannon and Maddie Heath of San Marcos, CA, great nephews; Sean Flotkoetter of Miles City, MT, T.J. Flotkoetter of Norfolk, VA, Brian Flotkoetter of Laurel, MT, Steven Tom of Boise, ID, and Noah Tom and Gabe Heath both of San Marcos, CA
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Caroline Dyba and a nephew, Mike Flotkoetter.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Visitation will also be held on Sunday, July 22, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Chapel with a vigil service following at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 23, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will be held in the family lot of the Calvary Cemetery. Condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.stevensonandsons.com.
