Interment: will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City with full military honors provided by VFW Post #1579
Charles Burdette Egge Jr. 89, of Glendive, formerly of Miles City, passed away at his home early Tuesday morning.
Charles was born June 4, 1918 in Lavina Mt. to Charles Egge Sr. and Clara (Lehfeldt) Egge. Charles started school on the south bench near thefamily homestead, and graduated fromLavina High School in 1939. Charles marriedVirginia (Gin) Fern Brownlee on the Brownlee family ranch in Lavina on Sept. 13, 1941. Charles served in the army in Company B 327th Engineer Combat Battalion in Germany during World War II, where he received thePurple Heart.In the fall of 1943 Charles and Virginia moved to Miles City, where he was employed by the MilwaukeeRailroad until 1955. In the fall of 1955 he went to work for the VA Hospitals a operating engineer. He was a member of the Eagles club in Miles City, he was also a member of NARFE, where he served as a president of the local chapter and a national representative too.In 1999 he moved to Glendive where he lived until the time of his death. Charles enjoyed hunting and going fishing with his friends and family.
Charles is survived by his two children, his son, Kenneth of Glendive; daughter, Cheryl and her husband, Gerald Watson of Glendive; brother, John and his wife Shirley of Roundup MT; five grandsons, Steve and Brian Egge of Odessa, TX; Sean Egge and wife Kristy ofNorth Carolina; Ryan Watson and wife Mariza ofNorfolk, VA; Richard Watson of Glendive, MT and one grand daughter Robbie Watson and fianc Justin Beery of Glendive, MT. He also has two great granddaughter and four great grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; father,Charles Egge Sr, mother, Clara Lehfeldt; brother Duane, sister Jean, two infant children; one grandson, Greg Egge; infant grand daughter; and daughter-in-law, Linda Egge. Visitation will be held on
