Interment: will follow at the Choteau Cemetery in Choteau, Montana.
Our loving father went to meet the Lord on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at his home in Gillette, Wyoming of natural causes. Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home of Gillette, Wyoming and Gorder Funeral Home of Choteau is entrusted with the arrangements.
Charles James Wiegand, III, known to his family and friends as Charlie was born February 19, 1938 the son of Charles, II Jim and Annie (Ekholt) Wiegand in the old Shelby Hospital in Shelby, Montana. Charlie was raised and educated in Shelby, Montana. As a young man, Charlie enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1956. In 1960, he was honorably discharged and met his first wife, Judy, in San Diego, California. Judy and Charlie were married in Shelby in 1960. Charlie worked for Dick Irvin Trucking before he started his own trucking business, which he successfully operated until June of 1980. He and Judy divorced in 1972. Charlie met Kris Thurston in 1971. They were married the following year. Kris and Charlie lived in Great Falls, Montana most of the time and ran the trucking business from their home. In 1982, Charlie and Kris were divorced. On September 2, 1988, he married June Cole in Livingston, Montana, eventually coming to Gillette, Wyoming in 1991. Charlie was partners with his wife in a Kirby business, earning numerous awards from the Kirby Corporation.
Charlie loved to play checkers, chess and pool and was excellent at all three. He will be remembered for his unique laugh and his use of the word hawk eyes for exclamations. Even more so, Charlies love for people was shown through his large client base while selling Kirby Vacuums and in retirement selling the dogs he raised.
Charlie is survived by his mother of Shelby, Montana; five sons: Al (Marlene) Wiegand of Helena, Montana; Jim Wiegand of Davenport, Iowa; Guy (Tiffany) Wiegand of Java, South Dakota; Lee Wiegand of Great Falls, Montana; Rex (Chrissy) Wiegand of Bozeman, Montana; two daughters: Cindy (Dwight) Pratt of San Diego, California; Ginger Wiegand of Great Falls, Montana; his brother, George Wiegand of Shelby, Montana; six sisters: Dorothy (Norman) Seymour of Shelby, Montana; Sally Caplis of Seeley Lake, Montana; Sue (Loren) Heavirland of Choteau, Montana; Pat (Joseph) Marks of Mesa, Arizona; Karen (Murray) Taylor of Shelby, Montana; Polly Ettinger of Great Falls, Montana; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father.
