Charlie and I started our correctional career together in 1992. We were a part of a team that was probably the best that I had the privilege to be included in. There were so many good times working together in Range Riders lodge. Those of you who were a direct recipient of the claw know what I am talking about. Charlie was greatly respected by both the staff and the kids at Pine Hills. He will be sorely missed, goodbye and may you rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers go out to not only your immediate family, but your correctional family as well.

  21. Karen Austin says

    November 28, 2016 at 11:17 am

Charlie loved working with the boys at Pine Hills and always treated them fairly. He had the kindest heart and when he had to be away from work was always more concerned about the boys needing him than about himself and his needs. He worked hard teaching them life’s lessons while being an exemplary role model and mentor and he truly loved his job. My heart is filled with sadness, but I am so thankful to have known Charlie and called him my friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Charlie, you will be missed so much at Pine Hills. The youth that you mentored found a friend, a father, and a man who was strong enough to love them by giving them the consistent discipline and caring attitude that a real man gives a son or grandson. Bill and I had – and will always have – the utmost respect for you. Peace be with you, Charlie!

    November 30, 2016 at 9:45 am

I’m sorry for the loss of your dear loved one, Charles, may you find comfort in the God of all comfort, Jehovah, in his word, the bible, in Psalms 34;18: Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit. God’s word, also says in Isaiah: 25:8: He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces….For Jehovah himself has spoken it. (Psalms 83:18; Titus 1:2) Isaiah 33:24, Revelation 21:3-5; / John 5:28,29; John 11:25,26; Acts 24:15. This is what God’s Kingdom, under Jesus Christ rulership, will accomplish in the near future, for all those who love righteousness. The true God, also promises in his word, in Psalms 37:11,29:..The meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace, 29: The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it. Psalms 104:5; Psalms 115:16; Ecclesiastes 1:4; Job 33:25; Isaiah 35:5,6; Isaiah 65:21,22; Psalms 37:34. (New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures)

To Charlene and Family: I am so sad to read this about Charlie. I am in shock. He was my Best friends brother and I remember him and Tim Dallas always giving me crap at their house. I have missed my talks with Charlene and would love to visit with her. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family during this time.
