Charles “Chuck” Louis Regalado, age 89, of Miles City passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City.
Chuck was born in Sugar City, Colorado to Ignacio and Hermenia (Gandara) Regalado. PFC Charles L. Regalado entered the service November 8, 1951 and transferred to the Army reserve on November 11, 1952. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged from the United States Army on November 30, 1959. After being discharged from the Army he returned to Texas for a short period of time before moving back to Miles City, where he began working at the Beacon Carter Station. On June 23, 1953 he married his high school sweetheart, Claudine Lopez in Aberdeen, South Dakota and lived there for a couple years before returning to Miles City. Together they had six children Chuck, Anita, Mike, Vicki & David. During the time his children were growing up he worked as a service station attendant. In 1969 he began operating the Courthouse Service Center until 1972. Chuck later worked at Pine Hills School and then worked at the Montana Highway Department until his retirement in 1993.
Chuck was a very hard worker. He took great pride in his yard and loved to create different scenes in his rock garden. His grandchildren brought him great pride and he loved watching them play sports. He even learned to love his great grand dogs, Bauer and Minni in the end. He had a tough exterior but when he loved you, he loved you endlessly.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Claudine; his five children: son, Chuck (Cheryl) Regalado of Billings, MT and their children Michael & Kiana; daughter Anita Clements of Tampa, FL and her son’s Jordan & Shane, Mike (Tammy Ralston) Regalado of Miles City and his daughter Reyna and their son Miguel, daughter, Vicki (Tim Letke) Regalado of Miles City and her son Shawn Leidholt, and David (Kristi) Regalado of Glasgow, MT and their children Tehya & Koby and seven great grandchildren. We will forever miss you. He was preceded in death by his mother, a still born baby boy and two brothers Riggs and Joe.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 3:00-5:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary/Vigil at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Miles City. Rite of Committal will follow in the Calvary Cemetery with full military honors. Should friends desire memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation. Charlie Regalado was absolutely adored by my mother and father. I was only six or seven when this happened. Charlie was working at the Beacon and had filled a car with gas. When it came time to pay for the gasoline, the two (2) brutes from Billings selected to just drive away from The Beacon Cafe, so, Charlie just beat the hell out of both of them and put the cash in the till.
