When her sister Zipporah Tallbull passed away in October Charlotte stepped in as Auntie/Momma for Zippy’s children Brandy (Bryan) (her namesake), Shaylene (Jay), Reasco, Jeremy (Trudy), Randall and Frank.
Charlotte loved traveling and spending time with loved ones. She attended school in Washington with the Mormon placement program. She was baptized LDS when she was 8 years old. Charlotte spent her personal and professional life helping others, she was a co-
founder of Healing Hearts Domestic Violence Program in 1992, which is still in operation today. She worked with the Montana Coalition against Domestic Violence, and Native Peoples Action. Charlotte worked for Social Services Program as a Counselor. Always advocating, Charlotte ended her professional career at Chief Dull Knife College, as a vocational rehabilitation counselor. Charlotte served on the Ft. Robinson breakout Committee for many years along with her late husband, Winslow Whitecrane.
Charlotte had a tender heart for her family and was protective and generous with them all. She was especially close to her daughter Deanna and granddaughter Abbree, sharing traditional Cheyenne culture with them both. She helped raise foster children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

My condolences to Charlotte’s family on the loss of Charlotte. In reading her obituary it looks like she was an outstanding person throughout her life, to her family and the Northern Cheyenne Tribe. It appears she not only, “had a tender heart for her family and was protective and generous with them all,” but also the same could be said for how she served her people.
