Interment: Mt. Pisgah CemeteryCharlotte N. Rock, age 82, a Campbell County resident, died Tuesday, December 9, 2003 in Gillette, Wyoming.

Charlotte N. Rock was born February 16, 1921 in Newville, Pennsylvania the daughter of Lily (Groff) and Clinton Neff. She was raised and educated in Newville, Pennsylvania and graduated from Newville High School in 1939. She wrote the words to the class song of the Newville High School, which still is the class song. She married Ralph R. Rock on May 10, 1941 in Hagers Town, Maryland. In 1948, they moved to Dubois, Wyoming where she worked with Joe and Mary Back, Western and Wildlife Artists for several years and started raising quarter horses. In 1956, they moved to Lander, Wyoming, where they bought a Conoco Station and continued to raise and ride her horses. She moved to York, Nebraska to follow her son to college, and remained there until Douglas and Janis both graduated from York Christian College. In 1968, they moved to Gillette, Wyoming where she lived until present.

She enjoyed going to the Senior Center for lunch and fellowship with her many friends. She loved ice skating. She also enjoyed going to church, hunting, feeding the wild birds, gardening, and especially fishing. Recently she started taking an oil painting class at the Senior Center.

She is survived by one son, Douglas Rock and wife Nancy (Lee) of Shawnee, Oklahoma; one daughter, Janis Rock and husband Tippy Clark of Gillette, Wyoming; two grandchildren: Alan Rock of Denver, Colorado; and Shanna Holt of Cedar Vale, Kansas; one sister, Ursula Failor of Carlisle, Pennsylvania; and one brother, Benjamin Neff of Shalimar, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph R. Rock in 1996; two sisters: Evelyn Smee and Daisy Oiler; and both parents.

Services for Charlotte Rock will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 15, 2003 at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Ken Nealigh officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, December 14, 2003Condolences may be sent to the family at P.O.
