Chris I just don’t understand, but yet I do. I always admired how you handled life and looked up to your strength. You were a great friend. Brad and I had great times with you and we will both miss you greatly. My condolences and heartfelt sorrow go out to your family whom I’m sure will truly not understand how this could be. You and your family will be in my prayers; you, I will pray that you’ve found the peace that you were searching for and for your family, that God will hold each and everyone of them in his arms tightly, and keep them very close to him through this very difficult time and give them the strength that they will need at this time. Chris, I truly hope you are at peace, but the selfish part of me so wants you to be here; you were a good friend and good friends are so hard to find. Brad and I will miss you so much.

Chris and I met in high school; we dated on and off a couple times but remained good friends…. as the years moved past us, we lost contact… but thanks to facebook we reconnected about 3-4 years back…. we would chat once in awhile, catch up and remember silly things we did. Just three months ago we talked for a bit… he seemed a little down…. but then he would brighten up…. I know you missed you Dad something fierce…. I hope you have the comfort of him near you now. I’ll always remember your sweet, adorable and mischievous smile…. the Wiesel you had hanging in your truck that I would try to take… and you said one day I would get it… I never did. 🙂 I have so many memories of you.. they were all good. Rest in peace, my friend. I pray that one day I’ll see you in Heaven and we can enjoy the silly again. My prayers are with your family and friends.
Cindy and Dale Berg says

Beverly Neyens-Miller says
Although I didn’t know Chris like others, we had a special relationship that continued, although miles apart. Hours of talks on the phone with “Honey Jack”. Chris was one that I could tease and tease and know that it would come back threefold. I would have loved to meet his cousin as somehow he said the only one that was somewhat like me with the “fun and harrassment (dirty teasing)” given him was from her. I thank Judy & Stan for introducing us, as for the short time in life, I knew I had a great friend in Miles City that welcomed me anytime. I will miss you, Chris. I was just getting ready to send you another tin for your Jack collection but I will keep it as a memory to you. My heart goes out to your mother, family & friends. Take care my friend.
Leroy & Pearl Hirsch says

Jeri Anderson says
Chris and I worked together for a number of years. I was always appreciative of his dedication and commitment, as well as his willingness to “be a pain…” and stand up against injustices against coworkers and the kids. When I saw him last summer, it was again as he was helping someone. He was so genuine and caring and I could always count on him to be real, even if it was tough to hear, and could count on him to always follow it up with a laugh.
His death, in no way, takes away from his life. I will always be glad to listen, to share story, or to shed a tear…
Vickie Schneidt says

Mike and Deeon Bickle says
I had the pleasure of working with and getting to know Chris during his employment at Pine Hills. I will miss his smile and sense of humor. He left some very good memories with everyone. I pray that his family will find peace and understanding during this difficult time.

I may never understand everything nor may we ever have the answers we want I only hope he is at peace. I also hope that he can help train some of the dogs I have had who are now in heaven. I will miss u and will be sad knowing such a great person is not with us anymore. Rip and I will keep u and your family into prayers.
J Johnson says
Dear Family and friends of Chris Nielson. – please be comforted by the beautiful memories of Chris Nielson and by the sure hope of Bible promises that will be fulfilled. In the Bible book of Genesis, we notice that God intended for mankind to live in perfect conditions in the Garden of Eden, which was a paradise where everything was “very good” (Gen 1:31). Suffering and death were not a part of God’s purpose but was introduced through Adam’s disobedience (Gen 2:17). There will come a time when the dead are resurrected (John 5:28, 29) and death will be done away with (Revelation 21:4) Meanwhile we have the opportunity to follow Jesus’ instruction to continue to take in Bible knowledge that leads to everlasting life (John 17:3). Hopefully, faith in these Bible promises will ease the pain from this loss as you look forward to seeing Chris Nielson again under perfect Paradise conditions as promised in the Bible.

Mark Winkley says
Sandy I was shocked to hear of the news of Chris’s passing. As you know Chris and I ran around in school together ever since he moved to town in junior high from Kinsey only a block away. We ran around together in high school and later on. A lot of nights during high school out coon hunting in Kinsey with the hounds till the wee hours of the morning, and driving around in his grandfather’s old hand me down Chevy pickup jumping the water plant road tracks catching air messing around in the shop. We made it through high school and graduated. Later we worked together at the County Jail you included. He later went on to Pine Hills; I soon followed and got to work with Chris again for almost 15 years there. He was a good guy that always stood up for people’s rights in the work place out there, and was afraid to speak up. We would always have fun giving Ernie grief whenever we saw him out working in maintenance at Pine Hills and Ernie would blame us for the few gray hairs he had back then. I will truly miss him God Bless you and Raechell during this difficult time.
Karina Meidinger-Lahue says

Dena Sprandel Lang says
My deepest sympathy. I don’t remember exactly when I met Chris, but it was a long time ago, ~ before high school. Chris was an all around good guy. Every time I ran into him he always had a smile on his face and never had anything but kind words to say. Within the last few months I was actually able to sit and talk with him for a bit, and he hadn’t changed… he was still that friendly, funny, smiling, genuine person he always was. He will be missed by many. I am so sorry for your loss.

Chris, you were and will always be one of my best friends. I looked up to you for many reasons. You were the one person that I though this would never happen to. I understand that you must have had your reason(s), but never mind that. You were always like a big brother to me and I will cherish that for the rest of my life. I love you man and I will never forget you.
Sandy, I now have more of an understanding about why this all happened from us talking the other night. I still find it tough to think about all this as well as you do too. But no matter the situation I want you to know that you will always have special place in my life. If you ever need anything please let me know.
Nancy Rohloff says
Sandy and Loved Ones:
I worked with Chris at Kinsey when he was a young child. As his speech therapist, don’t remember if he had a lisp or didn’t say his “r” correctly. Regardless, I remember that twinkle in his eye and that winning smile. Later in life I would wave to him as I passed his house and always got a big wave back. I’m waving at him now and with each wave comes a heartfelt prayer for each of you left behind. Blessings and Strength to you all! Miss Nancy

My heart is broken over the loss of Chris. He was a great friend to my nephew Aaron Nelson. We don’t know why this happened, but I’m sure Chris has his reasons. The first time I met Chris, he was at my mom’s Dolores’ home – He cracked some joke about me and just smiled and laughed. He then hugged me and said he looked forward to teasing me even more. I’ll never forget his laugh or smile. He was part of our family for many years.
Please know he is now in heaven with Ernie and my mom “Gramma J.” She’ll be fussing over him as she always did. Mom visited Chris in the hospital when he wrecked his bike. He came to spend time with her after she had broken her leg. He was only a phone call away.
We’ll miss you dearly Chris!!! Peace be with you and your family.

May Chris Nielsen RIP, at times the painful blow to the heart from death can be so great that it crushes the spirit towards any hope, in despair and grief let God’s word cushion the blow with the helmet of salvation in Hope found in his Word the bible, “but I would not have you to be ignorant, brethen, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope” 1 Thessalonians 4:13
” Our Father in the Heavens let your name be sanctified. Let your will take place, as in Heaven, also upon Earth.” Matthew 6:9,10; Psalms 37:11; John 5:28,29; Psalms 115:16
Joanne Cowles says
Please accept my deepest sympathy as your pain must be great. The Bible holds out God’s promises of restoring the earth to paradise where there will be a resurrection of the dead. The meek will inherit the earth and there will no longer be pain, sorrow or even death as those former things will have passed away. Jehovah God actually yearns to bring back the dead.
John 5:28,29 ; Psalm 37:29; Revelation 21:3,4; Job 14:13-15
Until the time when you welcome him back may the promises for our future paradise earth be of comfort.
Sean U. says
I had spent a lot of time with Chris where he worked. I got to know him pretty well. He helped me through some of the hardest, most difficult things in my life. I can honestly say he helped me become the man I am. I will honor him forever and always. And never, NEVER, shall I forget the debt I owe him.
