Christel was born on February 12, 1915 in a sod house at Grandma Martin's homestead, west of Angela,
MT. She married Floyd LePoidevin on July 3, 1934 at the First Baptist Church in Miles City. They lived several places in Montana and Washington and then made their way to Deer Park, Washington where they raised their family.
Christel loved God, her family and her church. She was a faithful member of the Rochester Assemblies of God Church. Over the years she had been involved in teaching Sunday school, hospitality, women's ministries and she also served as a cook for Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, ND for several years. She was very talented and used her talents in cooking, baking wedding cakes, all kinds of crafts and loved making things for family and friends. She devoted her life to caring for others.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd; parents, Bill and Hazel Klar; 1 brother Bill, 1 sister Bernice Jensen and a great-granddaughter, Joyce LePoidevin.
She is survived by her 5 children; Floyd (Mary) of Miles City, MT; Harold (Joanne) of Spokane, WA; Larry (Ruth) of Tucson, AZ; Bonita (Floyd) O'Bryan of Rochester, MN, and Ray(Cheryl) of Carson, WA; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Marge Kaldor of Hillsboro, ND, Arva Spidel of Hysham, MT, and Marlene Parkins, of Billings, MT, and many nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Steve and Betty Elias, of Rochester, for the many months of loving Mom, being with her, reading the Bible, praying with her, crying with her and making her laugh.
A prayer service will be held on Sunday evening, January 3rd, 2010 at 4:00 pm at the Rochester Assembly of God Church. Memorial services will be held on Monday morning, January 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Rochester Assembly of God Church at 4240 18th St. NW. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Assembly of God Church in Miles City, MT. Graveside services will follow at the Forsyth Cemetery in Forsyth, MT.
