Christopher (Chris) Stephen Rochelle, Ve’kesoxhaahketa (LittleBird) 64, of Billings, MT Formerly of Lame Deer, MT. went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 16, 2023 after a long debilitating illness. Chris was born in Los Angeles California on April 9, 1959 to his mother Mary Ann Tallwhiteman Rochelle of Ashland, Mt and father Mars Rochelle of Los Angeles, Ca. Chris graduated from St Labre Catholic High School class of 1978, in Ashland Mt. He then continued his education at Chief Dull Knife Memorial College.
Chris met Myrna McManus in Lame Deer and on September 28, 1991 they were married. They resided several years there during which Chris was a driver for the medical transportation for IHS, He drove dialysis patients to billings and back. Eventually they moved their family to Billings, Mt where they resided until his passing.
Chris was preceded in death by their unborn son Baby Rochelle, loving grandparents, Jasper and Becky (Alice) Tallwhiteman, his mother, Mary Ann Tallwhiteman Rochelle, sister Carrie Wayman Bialis of Lac Du Flambeau, Wi, Brother-in-law Gail Baker Jr, Sister-in-Law Zethal Woodenlegs, Adopted son Jeremiah Woodenlegs, John Tallwhiteman and several friends who also passed from dialysis.
Chris is survived by his father, Mars (Susan) Rochelle and stepmothers Robin Thompson and Denise Dunn Rochelle. Chris is also survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Myrna Rochelle and their daughters Maria Russell Acosta ( Ruben) and Angel Rochelle, his many grandchildren Ethan Christopher Young, MJ, Baby Addie, Baby Gail, Zander, True Light, Leila. He also has grandchildren in Albuquerque and Wisconsin. He is also survived by his brothers Mike Rochelle and Gabriel Rochelle, and sisters Sherry Rochelle, Jean Rochelle, Cathie (Anthony) Wayman Carufel, Jessica (Hector) Rochelle Delgado and Jennifer Rochelle, and Grandma Susie Tallwhiteman Wilsey as well as several cousins, many nieces, nephews, aunts and Uncles. Chris had a huge and loving family and close friends there are too many to list. Please know he really cared for all of you.
Services will be held at Hope Pentecostal Church of God located at 211 Elkhorn Scraper Dr, Lame Deer, Mt. with procession to the gravesite at Hiwalker Cemetery.
